Wide angle lens as present08 Sep 2007 14:41 GMT23
I'm looking (in advance, for a change) for a camera related present
for my girlfriend, a keen amateur. She has a Canon 400D with the
18-55mm that came with it and a 90-300mm telephoto. I think she also
has a 20-80mm (or thereabouts) from her previous analog SLR.

Seems like I remember years ago hearing about this to identify people
as criminals or targets.
Scanner for large batches of Slides08 Sep 2007 09:36 GMT6
Hope this is the right place to ask this question. A friend of mine has

have moved on and most places he talks at have PCs and projectors as
standard, not slide projectors.
Gimp vs Photoshop08 Sep 2007 06:24 GMT106
While to day it is no contest I wonder if someday Gimp will catch up.
However, for about $700 less Gimp is a very enticing product.  Gimp
needs to support profiles, adjustment layers, a Photoshop like crop tool
and have the healing (and sport healing brush) and a few other of ...

Rainbow?07 Sep 2007 20:19 GMT9
I took these a fortnight ago as I was flying home to Ireland from Lanzarote.
At first I thought it was the window playing tricks on me but then
remembered reading about circular rainbows years ago. What do you think?

Why Many Hate Porn?07 Sep 2007 11:44 GMT3
Human natures are fine tuned for gene pool survival.
The way we evolve in the gene pool is that when we're not at war,
we're in a race.
Peace and freedom means competition. Some people are uncompetitive. So

More HDR photos06 Sep 2007 22:37 GMT16
Thanks to Photomatix, I've spent the weekend revisiting some of my old
RAW files to see if I can get more range out of them. Some work better
than others, but most all look better than before.
