Adobe DNG, Ricoh GR Digital and Mac OS X12 Aug 2007 08:32 GMT3
I have been searching around to try and understand the limitations with
Adobe DNG and OS X. It's a bit of a struggle so I'd welcome any
pointers.
I was trying out a potential first digital camera (Ricoh GR Digital)
Golden Hour Questions12 Aug 2007 05:19 GMT7
Up to now I've mostly taken travel photos at whatever time I happened
to be at a particular location. But I'll be going back to a place I
have been to several times before and will feel less pressure to "see
everything". I'm hoping to back to some scenic spots I know at
PowerShot A7012 Aug 2007 04:26 GMT2
My LCD just flashes when in viewfinder mode. It works fine when in
display picture mode.

Rookie Battery Question about Canon S311 Aug 2007 23:55 GMT15
Recently purchased a Canon S3 SI camera. The manual says to only use Canon
AA NIMH rechargeable batteries. Now I assume any brand of NIMH rechargeable
is ok, but am I doing any harm or causing any problems by using standard
disposable AA alkaline batteries.

pics of the house and the neighbourhood (lots of them), plus a map
showing where each pic was taken, plus info on my home and the
neighbourhood.
Digital camera with stereo sound recording11 Aug 2007 12:22 GMT9
A good digital stereo sound recorder costs a few hundred pounds. I'd
like to have one. I'd also need a new digital camera - so wondered if I
could kill two birds with one stone:
Is there a digital camera, preferable compact, capable of quality stereo
Perceived sharpness and mtf in analog/digital domain11 Aug 2007 09:02 GMT16
One thing I came across when studying our perception of sharpness and
sharpness related issues in analog and digital photography is the fact
that films produce a long and sloping MTF curve (a gradual decrease
from low to high frequencies) while digital sensors tend to stay on
High Speed Golf club and ball collisions- images10 Aug 2007 21:56 GMT4
I just finished a photo shoot for a physics text book, and thought you
guys might like to see some of the nice shots of golf balls getting hit
by clubs.  The golfer was swinging at 96 MPH while the high speed flash
captured the action at 1/1,000,000th of a second.
How many lens required10 Aug 2007 20:04 GMT36
Thinking about taking up photography as a hobby but the more I read
the more I'm getting confused. For instance, I get the impression that
most users recommend SLR cameras rather than digital cameras like the
Panasonic FZ18. If I decide to purchase a DSLR camera how many lens
Does Canon seal their boxes?10 Aug 2007 18:15 GMT11
I just received a new Canon camera from Adorama. The box is not
sealed. How do I know that it's new? To me an "open box" should sell
at a discount.
Photosjop CS is my latest update10 Aug 2007 17:54 GMT4
I am a serious amaterur - not a professional.  Am I the only one who
doesn't want to continue the endless spiral of Photoshop updates. I
have CS.  If I go to CS3 I will want to (a) buy at least three CS3
books (2) abandon several hard-learned techniques to use "better"
