Storing Your Digital Camera15 Aug 2007 23:30 GMT2
Is there a preferred orientation for storing your a dslr?
I store mine lens up and was wondering should I be storing it lens forward
so not to make it so easy for gravity to leave dust/dirt on the sensor?
Thanks for any replies.

Raw Shooter Essentials replacement15 Aug 2007 22:01 GMT3
Does any one use a software like RSE that is free and can handle Canon
30D. RSE does not. I like the way RSE handled raw on my XT, but now I
am at a loss for the 30D.

Sharpness issues with Canon 50mm f/1.8 and Canon Rebel XTi15 Aug 2007 15:06 GMT23
I'm a newbie to SLRs. I bought my Canon Rebel XTi and Canon 50mm f/1.8
II just a few days back. I feel the pictures I get are not as sharp as
I expect them to be. An image with 100% crops from pictures taken at
various apertures can be seen at the following link.
Repair or scrap?15 Aug 2007 13:36 GMT4
I've got a Nikon Coolpix 5700. I took it out yesterday and the screen is
blank, just as if I'd left the lens-cap on. It will display pictures
already on the card, and the menu system works fine, both on the
electronic viewfinder and the screen, but no image at all.

Apparently Sony is coming out with a new 14.8MP camera soon. Since Nikon
uses Sony's chips could this be the next D3's digital sensor?
Press the link and look for the Sony camera. http://www.engadget.com/page/2/

Why don't jpegs look good on my hdtv?14 Aug 2007 22:48 GMT41
I made a CD of some jpegs and put it into my DVD player just to see if
it would work. It did, of course, but I'm a little behind the times.
But...
The pictures, many of which were of waterfalls, looked "pebbly" to use
I´m lost! Depth of field problem with all DSLR´s ???14 Aug 2007 22:35 GMT61
After seeing many sites with beautiful photos, I´m coming to the conclusion
that nearly all DSLR camera´s have a big problem with depth of field.
Nikon D80, Canon 400D, etc. Especially with macro pics I see the front of a
bee or fly sharp, but the body is already out of focus.
Synchronizing Inexpensive Digital Camera Shutters14 Aug 2007 22:09 GMT19
I have not found any stereoscopic cameras that meet my needs, so I
would like to assemble something that might. I want to rig two point-
and-shoot digital cameras together so they will record a stereoscopic
image. The problem is synchronizing the shutters. It should be
