Canon ef50 f1.8 vs ef35 f221 Aug 2007 20:47 GMT3
I currently own the ef50 f1.8 (mkII) and love it to bits.
I love using the aperture setting and forcing the camera to take portraits
at f1.8 which focuses beautifully on the individual and blurs the background
out.
How a camera was designed, made and marketed ?21 Aug 2007 18:18 GMT5
I am very curious if there is a book, or a website which describes the
process where, how and when a camera (new model, or update of an old
model) is born. How long was the development of a new design?  Who are
the players behind the design and technical features of the camera?
Dpreview selector: AA batteries?21 Aug 2007 17:30 GMT45
Has anybody figured out how to tell Dpreview.com's camera selector
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp
to show only cameras powered by AA batteries, not proprietary LiON?
If not, is there another good camera selector somewhere?
Brooklyn address help needed21 Aug 2007 15:06 GMT2
I've been spending a bit of time checking the web sites of the Brooklyn
camera dealers to find ones that have gone out of business, or have moved.
I've updated my page and I have a long list of addresses to check out in
the next few days. For those of you not familiar with my page ...

Just yesterday I bought the D80 + 18-70 mm here in Portugal. BIG sticker

EOS 40d info leaked;  Is it time to trade in the 20d ?21 Aug 2007 02:26 GMT3

I'm not a big photo buff but my gut feeling is that the 20d isn't that
far behind the 40d so there is not need to junk the 20d yet?  What do
you think?
Dead Pentax 555?21 Aug 2007 02:15 GMT3
A couple of days ago, I turned on my Pentax Optio 555.  The lens
didn't extend, but the camera chirped once, the LCD lit up briefly
with the "Optio" logo, and then shut off after about a second. I
charged the battery, with the same result
Getting Creamy With The Mk III21 Aug 2007 00:29 GMT26
Right out of the box the old Mk III is almost ready for action! I don't know
if it was the anticipation, but that very first charge of the battery felt
like an eternity. It was a dreary and gloomy day and yet the old Mk III
still wanted to go out and play.  What a trooper.  One ...

Getting a focal length of between 500 and 2000 mm for a digital camera?20 Aug 2007 20:46 GMT5
I wonder if somebody knows anything about this: what is the cheapest
way (but maintaining high quality!) of getting the equivalence of a
focal length of between 500 and 2000 mm for a digital camera? I now
have a Nikon Coolpix 4500 and a TC-E3ED lens that gives the
