If AdobeRGB is better, why does sRGB exist?09 Jul 2007 00:57 GMT10
We should all be using it, right? Is this a licencing issue (i.e. having
to pay royalties to Adobe), or why isn't all available software
(browsers, email programs, image editors etc.) using Adobe RGB or at
least capable to properly display AdobeRGB images? At the moment, if you

Shadows? ? ?08 Jul 2007 18:10 GMT11
My first digital camera was a medium range Kodak, but I found that the
biggest problem was that when the flash was used, there was always a very
pronounced shadow against the wall. It was like a silhouette.
My next was a Canon PowerShot which did not have this problem.

Circular polarizer question08 Jul 2007 13:25 GMT15
I have a brand new Tiffen 72mm circular polarizer I purchased with my
new Rebel XT. I've not yet shot any images through it, but simply
looking through it outdoors under a partly (cumulus) cloudy but
otherwise blue sky, it appears to have virtually no apparent
Best DSLR for under $100008 Jul 2007 13:19 GMT23

why?
No Smart Media readers for vista?08 Jul 2007 13:01 GMT24
I have an Olympus 2100C camara.  It won't interface with Vista through
the camera's USB or an Olympus smart media card reader (MAUSB-1).
Drivers for Win2000 install fine but no interface to the camera or
card ever appears.  I can't find any smart media card readers that are
Why is the pixel count growing so slowly?08 Jul 2007 08:36 GMT135
Given that memory chips with billions of cells exist, why are we stuck
at the 10-12MP level? What prevents a manufacturer from creating a CCD
with 50-100 million pixels? Should be doable with today's technologies.
Let's ignore the sensor size, which can't be too big for ...
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM08 Jul 2007 07:10 GMT10
Has anyone used the Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM lens?
I was thinking of getting this with the 400d.
I was pretty much decided on it until I came across this webpage

I'll Never Take A Nikon To A Black Tie Event Ever Again!08 Jul 2007 03:52 GMT2
Since the Canon Mk III can live up to the task of capturing the unwelcome
action from several uninvited guests that ensue.

D70s aperture control08 Jul 2007 03:38 GMT20
I'm starting to seriously consider going back to an SLR, and was looking at
a D70s the other day.  At one point, it struck me that there was something
seriously off about the kit lens, but couldn't figure it out until I put
the camera into aperture priority mode.  Then it hit me.  ...

Correct exposure with bright skies07 Jul 2007 18:22 GMT11
Can anyone offer some basic advice or links about getting a decent exposure
when the sky is overcast and glaring!
I'm a noob pretty much so I tend to use too much guesswork!
Here is a shot where the "interest" if I can be so bold has a lot to do with

The Empty Tomb And Trashing  Da Vinci Code ! Jesus Died And Rose Again!07 Jul 2007 15:31 GMT2

soldiers guarded it.The third day it was empty. Two angels appeared
to the women who were visiting the tomb early in the morning and told
them."Why you seek the living among the dead He is not here.He is
