Recs on wide lens with good zoom for Canon 20D16 Jul 2007 09:32 GMT11
I have a Canon 20D with a Canon EFS (auto/manual focus) 18-55mm lens.
I'd like something wider and more zoom.  I'm considering a Canon EF-S
17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens (9517A002).  It list these specs for
magnification:

A first kiss should always be done while the two of you are alone.

This will help to avoid any unnecessary nervousness and embarrassing

Sony Carl Zeiss 135mm f/1.7 -- too sharp for the Maxxum 7D15 Jul 2007 19:46 GMT6
Wide open (f/1.7, 1/800, open shade, WB@7500K, from RAW, Maxxum 7D, ISO 100)
Unsharp mask... note the staircase in the middle, back petal.  This is
apparent in the RAW file as well.  See last linked image [W/O sharpening])
Downsampled

Blinking Flash Compensation icon on D7015 Jul 2007 16:13 GMT2
I just noticed for the first time today that when I try to use the
flash in any of the manual modes (M, S, A, P), the Flash Compensation
icon blinks.  If I take a picture in this state the flash seems to
fire at full power and the images are completely over exposed.
question on thumbnails15 Jul 2007 15:20 GMT3
I downloaded a picture of a forum of a car with the number plate obscured,
it was saved in a folder as a thumbnail.
When I open the folder the thumbnail shows the number plate and is readable
yet when I open the picture to full size it is obscured.

How many pix/camera do you take?15 Jul 2007 03:14 GMT14
I'm wondering if most people don't take all that many photos with their
cameras. Reason I bring this up is because of a problem I had recently with
my Fuji F30.
A few days ago, I noticed it acting a bit oddly... the display that shows
My own image manipulator program14 Jul 2007 23:46 GMT18
Here's a little program that I wrote for myself. It isn't a full blown
commercial product
but I have fun manipulating pictures with it. I hope some folks will try it
and comment here.
Pentax digital camera software problem14 Jul 2007 23:35 GMT6
I have just become the owner of a second user Pentax Optio 33L. It is
coming via eBay and the description on the auction listings says there
is no software included. I have been to the Pentax Help pages and
downloaded the USB driver and pdf manuals but I wondered if anyone
EOS 400d opinions sought.14 Jul 2007 22:26 GMT53
I'm new to this forum and just about to purchase my first DSLR camera
(upgrading from a Fuji s5000). I'm pretty much set on the Canon EOS
400d but I've heard that that 18-55mm lens which comes with it is a
bit of a dog.
