Powershot S3is: how to make this appear as a logical drive?19 Jul 2007 08:13 GMT8
I've got a powershot S3is.  I have proprietary software that needs to
see the camera as a logical drive.  However, the powershot doesn't
show up in My Computer as a drive, it shows up under devices.  Other
than using a card reader, is there any way to configure the camera as
50mm, f/1.2 vs f/1.419 Jul 2007 04:57 GMT36
I'm hoping to find if there is that much difference between an f/1.2 and an
f/1.4 lens for shooting in dim light. The lenses I am writing about are the
Canon 50mm f/1.2L USM AF lens (about $1,400) and the Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM
lens (about $300)  I realize that their is a big ...
How to assign an ICC color profile to a scanner in OS X?19 Jul 2007 04:20 GMT7
Does anybody know? I have a list of profiles, supplied by the
manufacturer, but I can't get any of them assigned to the scanner the

ISO speed value meaning19 Jul 2007 03:00 GMT4
I understand a faster ISO means the exposure will be created faster,
thus requiring less light and enabling faster shutter speeds.
What does the 50 in ISO50 mean? What does the 800 in ISO800 mean? etc.

Using Canon X2 Extender With 300mm 2.819 Jul 2007 00:57 GMT4
Just out of interest, I have used the Canon 1.4 extender with no problems,
but have heard that when using the X2 extender the image quality suffers
quite a bit.
Anyone used a X2 extender with a 300mm f/2.8L IS?  Would be interested to
Any advice on Ebay camcorder batteries?19 Jul 2007 00:26 GMT2
Not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this, but...
I know there's a degree of risk on anything you buy like this, but I
just wondered if, in general, there's a consensus on camcorder
batteries on Ebay.  They appear to be of Chinese origin, and don't
