| Upgrading from 300D - to 40D or 5D?? | 27 Jun 2007 22:22 GMT | 14 |
Hey, folks. I'm an increasingly avid amateur, who's pretty much outgrown his Canon 300D. I'm currently waiting (as are many) for the 40D, as it'd be a nice

| Photo achiving to a database | 27 Jun 2007 20:23 GMT | 5 |
I am working for a organization that wants to set up a photo archive on their server. It needs to be searchable, easily updatable, cheap (I'm working for a non profit), and if possible, I would like to set it up in such a way that people can comment on the pictures.

| Nikon and Canon could learn a lot from Apple! | 27 Jun 2007 19:57 GMT | 7 |
At least from a manufacturing and supple standpoint! To prevent supply and demand problems Apple has refused to release the iPhone till they had enough in stock (3-million units) to meet high customer demand. Now if Nikon and Canon would take the effort to follow this business ...

| Night shot, how was it done? | 27 Jun 2007 19:23 GMT | 7 |
I'm looking at this shot and wonder how the photographer made it work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/futura/493098518/in/set-72157594562627177/ I realize that the shot is out of focus, but each time I attempt this sort of thing the result is very poor: the dark areas are all yellowy

| Dust on the Sensor | 27 Jun 2007 17:36 GMT | 4 |
I had read on this post that someone had said they used a Rocket Blower (Compressed Air) to clean the dust off the Sensor, is this ok to do would the sensor become damaged ?? what about using one of those blue rubber things and just do it without the force of compressed air

| Olympus Camera SDK - Trial Version? | 27 Jun 2007 09:26 GMT | 1 |
Olympus charges $30 for their digital camera SDK (Canon also has an SDK for their camera's and they give it away for FREE). I have to use an Olympus camera for my experiment so I need to try out the SDK for certain functionality which I am not sure

| [DSLR] 1:1 vs. crop? | 27 Jun 2007 08:57 GMT | 13 |
Hi, all. I've finally found this group. :) I'm planning to buy a DSLR camera. I figured out there are several types of CCD size. Of course 1:1 CCD will be better than the crop. But

| rotation of pics | 27 Jun 2007 07:11 GMT | 5 |
Inability to rotate pics has got to be the most annoying thing about shooting digital. If you use a pic viewer (such as CompuPic) to rotate and then save at 100%, the file size increases 3X. I used the rotate feature on ACDSee, file size remained the same. But does that

| 400d Question | 27 Jun 2007 03:42 GMT | 4 |
I tried searching on the net for this but to no definite conclusion. Does the 400d allow you to select an autofocus point off-centre? I have read that it has 9 auto focus points, but does this mean that you can set up to nine at once and, if you want, use only one? I have used a ...

| Digital Zoom Function on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200 | 27 Jun 2007 01:06 GMT | 1 |
The sales blurb about the Sony DSC-W200 says that you get "3x optical zoom and 6x precision digital zoom for superb clarity". Because this camera has only a 3x zoom function (35mm to 105mm), I thought that, for stills, if you use the precision digital zoom, you would get superb ...
