More questions on the Rebel XTi06 Jun 2007 16:20 GMT16
I had pretty much decided to purchase the Canon XTi with the kit 18-55 lens
plus a longer lens, say 75-300, until I read the previous discussion on the
merits of the Nikon D40x.
While I'm still inclined to go with the XTi it seems from the comments that
Using EXIFER to edit time taken06 Jun 2007 15:52 GMT1
It never used to matter much if I didn't accurately set the time on my
camera, but I'm now getting interested in 'geo-tagging', where
precision is important.
So it would be very useful if, for a batch of files, I could alter the
Consumer level camera recommendation06 Jun 2007 15:26 GMT10
I have an OLD sony digital camera that came with my TV 5 years ago.
Looking to upgrade to a $150-$200 range, for general purpose picture

for under a $1000?
It appears that d-slr is a must due to the fast shutter speeds and a
fast/low-light lens is must. Thanks in advance....
How about Nikon D40 + 50mm f/1.8 to start off the thread?
18-135mm nikon vs 70-300mm06 Jun 2007 10:55 GMT3
Recently purchased a Nikon D80 with the 18-135mm kit lens.  I was showing it
off to a friend that owns a Nikon ED 70-300mm  1:4-5.6D (for film camera)
lens.  He is keen to sell this lens.   Out of curiosity I ptook two shots of
a house about 250 meters away. The camera was on a ...
Deleting photos06 Jun 2007 10:44 GMT4
I have recently purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-W35.
I am able to delete images one at a time but have not found how to
clear the memory card completely.
Could anyone advise if this is possible and how to do it?
Seeking photo printer with specific reqs.06 Jun 2007 10:43 GMT7
I'm about to plunge into buying my first photo printer. I started
investigating reviews of the Canon Pixma iP6220D first, mostly because
I saw it on sale, but the more I research the more questions/concerns
I have, particularly about cost and quality of output. As for this
copy photos form computer to memory card06 Jun 2007 10:41 GMT3
I do not want to remove pictures from my computer, just simply copy
some of them to a memory card to insert into a digital picture frame.
What is the easiest method to accomplish this??
Various JPG File Names06 Jun 2007 10:38 GMT17
I recently took about 700 pictures with my Canon 20D using a single 2Gig
card.
When I uploaded the files to my computer I noticed that some file names
were of the type _MG_1242.JPG while some others were something like

file path too long06 Jun 2007 05:39 GMT2
"optical media presents one particular problem, for storage
purposes. That is, if a file's path contains too many characters, it
can't be copied or moved, to disc. "
Roxio says OS might have trouble reading a file if the path is too

Canon S3 IS vs S2 IS06 Jun 2007 05:39 GMT20
I currently have an S2 IS, which I have been happy with (though like
the S1 IS it's still pretty much useless in low-light situations). The
prices on the S3 IS have come down so much that I'm considering an
upgrade. But other than the increase in megapixels, are there really
