frustration with digital photos08 Jun 2007 04:45 GMT38
I have been collecting my digital photos for 8+ years now. Knowing
that computers, cd's etc are not reliable I relied on an external

Program for White Balance Correction?08 Jun 2007 03:02 GMT10
I recently took lots of pics with my new Canon XTI. I changed the

auto. Is there a program to correct the white balance for these pics
which were shot outdoors? I have photoshop elements 2.0 but don't
gphoto208 Jun 2007 02:28 GMT18
I discovered from www.gphoto.org that there is such software:
(quoted) gPhoto2 is a free, redistributable, ready to use set of digital
camera software applications for Unix-like systems, written by a whole team
of dedicated volunteers around the world. It supports more than 800 ...

Learn how histograms actually work; LOTS of illustrations.07 Jun 2007 16:56 GMT13
I have been continually disappointed with histogram articles. While
many include a good number of photographs and a lot of descriptive
text, I never found one that demonstrated the real mechanics of the
histogram through illustrations.

Olympus E-330.  I'm sure someone with a low-noise FF Canon or a 1.3
could do a good deal better.  The image is of a scene with trees in
the foreground, buildings on the horizon and clouds in a blue sky.

Some random, real world, information for those looking at the various
upgrade options for xd cards.  Fuji and Olympus now have two new xd card
formats: xd type M and type H.
You have to check for compatability with some of the older camera models.
Which 18-200mm lens07 Jun 2007 01:38 GMT4
I have been considering both the Tamron and the Sigma 18-200mm lenses.
Any thoughts as to which would be the better choice would be

I posted yesterday about the blurry images I was getting from CS2
after they were merged to HDR from Bridge.  After some trial and
tribulation, I got this pretty decent result:
