Tripods12 Jun 2007 23:29 GMT19
On my visit to Banff last week, I lost a quick-release plate for my tripod
head. This led me to the Banff camera shop and the eventual purchase of a
new tripod and head combination for more than they were worth (a Bogen 190
CL and Compact Ball Head combo). The tripod and head ...
Fixing an unfocused image theoretically straightforward?!12 Jun 2007 22:20 GMT34
If an unfocused image = convolution of the focused image with a Gaussian
kernel, then this is a linear thus invertible transform, and therefore
the focused image could in principle be recovered by guessing the sigma
of the blurring Gaussian!
How to take a picture of a picture?12 Jun 2007 19:20 GMT16
I am currently trying to save old family photographs, and I have
successfully scanned dozens of old photographs.  Some of the
photographs do not scan well, and some of them are old metal
photographs 100+ years old that I have not even attempted to scan.

I just purchased a Canon PowerShot SD1000.  I would like to take  a 15

I am going to buy a Canon SD750 compact digital camera and wonder what
kind of SD card I should get. I'll shoot some movies once in a while
and therefore will go for a 4GB or 8GB card but what speed do I need
or does it even matter?

Kodachrome pallet with Digital post processing?12 Jun 2007 00:09 GMT2
One of the best explanations I heard for comparing different types of film
(remember film?) was that each one had a "pallet" of colors.
Is there any way to post process a digital pic and give it a "kodachrome"
look?
Which PC for maximum reliability?11 Jun 2007 22:22 GMT51
I have a busy photo studio, and absolutely cannot put up with delays
caused by a broken photo editing PC (broken hardware or screwed up
microsoft windows).  I need my PC to be available, always.  I am
willing to spend well over $10,000 if throwing money at the problem
