Rotate plugin for Irfanview?19 Jun 2007 01:57 GMT6
Can anyone suggest a free plugin (Photoshop or otherwise) that will work
with Irfanview to provide a better free-rotate function?  Something with
a slider (like in Picasa) or snap-line (Paintshop Pro) or anything
better than just randomly guessing angles?
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9 - worth it, even with proprietary battery?18 Jun 2007 23:24 GMT9
Wondering what folks think of the Sony DSC-H9 camera, and if it
is worth buying even if it does use proprietary batteries.
It seems to have both a high resolution EVF (201,000 pixels) and
a high resolution 3" LCD (230,000) and a 15x zoom with image

Looking for a bit of help here. Is it possible to make a gradient feather

top to bottom so that I have all the pixels at the top ...
Adobe Photoshop CS18 Jun 2007 22:41 GMT12
Upgraded from Photoshop 7 to Photoshop CS3 (Photoshop 10). Worth every
dollar. I was reviewing some of my old scanned slides today and
re-lived all the dust specs that got scanned along with the subject of
the slide. The Spot healing tool is worth the upgrade by itself. Just
Does Canon Camera SDK Allow for Focus Control?18 Jun 2007 22:07 GMT8
Does anyone know if Canon SDK allows for focus control? (Not
auto focus, but software controlled version of manual focus control?).

Defect in Canon: How to fix18 Jun 2007 19:52 GMT3
Yesterday my Canon Powershot A85 started malfuncitoning and I can't
get rid of the effect so far. I changed the batteries (Sanyo, 1.2 V
2300 mA/h) to the same model/brand batteries of higher charge (2700mA/
h). Since then (perhaps not related, though), I started seeing a stack
Compact recommendations?18 Jun 2007 14:23 GMT2
I am looking for a digital compact with optical zoom that also allows
to control the depth of field manually in a slightly better way than
just picking a couple of pre-set icons from the setup screen. Any
suggestions?

Rebel XTi vs d40x18 Jun 2007 05:48 GMT12
I am looking to get into photography with a decent SLR camera w/ a
lense for under 800 dollars. I have found two cameras that I really
like, the Canon Rebel XTi and the Nikon d40x. Can anyone post their
opinion to help me make an educated choice between the two?
Faster Memory Card: Sandisk Ultra II or Lexar w WA ?18 Jun 2007 03:55 GMT4
I have been using a 1 gb Lexar Pro compact flash memory card in my Nikon
d70s and am eyeing a new, larger 2 gb Sandisk Ultra II as a replacement.
The Lexar card utilizes WA technology and claims "80x"transfer speeds.  The
packaging on the Sandisk card seems to indicate up to only ...
Why PSing isn't evil?18 Jun 2007 00:04 GMT24
I'm wondering why touching isn't considered evil among photography
community? IOW, why photographers aren't taking oath not to use PS?
