CA gets worse with time?21 May 2007 22:44 GMT11
The chromatic aberration was never that good with my 1st digicam: an Olympus
C4040 from the start but I'm sure it got worse after a while. My current
PowewrShot A710IS was virtually free from it when bought but is showing
increasing levels of it.

POL filters on fixed-lens cameras ?21 May 2007 21:10 GMT5
One reaon that I have always gone to SLR cameras is that I like my POL
filter.  Are there tricks for using one with an optical finder?  Can I
look for the dip in the exposure reading and if there is none, decide
that the POL filter would't have made a big difference, anyway?

Printing photos at Target21 May 2007 20:15 GMT26
I should've known better, but anyway...
I decided to try doing photo printing at my local Target. You know, to
compare quality to my inkjet. I sent a photo to them online, and
specified 8x10. The picture wasn't exactly 8x10 dimensions, so they
Green Screen ( Chroma Key) question21 May 2007 19:07 GMT2
Does anyone know a pigment mix to get a Chroma Key Green paint?  I'd like to
get a Home Depot mix instead of paying $50 or more for the "real" thing.

Does Canon 30D Pre-fire Speedlight?21 May 2007 15:20 GMT7
Hi, all.  I'm an old-time A2 user and I always hated the pre-fire of
the Speedlight flash when tilted upwards (bounce-flash) in order for
the metering to work correctly.  Does this still happen with the 30D
and new 580EX2 flashes?  A pre-flash is not only annoying but it also

CS3 worth it?21 May 2007 14:34 GMT47
Using CS at the moment, CS3 is avail - is it still beta?
Any good - well, is it worth the install?  I did fancy trying adobe's canon
raw as the plugin doesn't play with just the CS.
- not another steep learning curve I hope.
