mounting inkjet photos23 May 2007 14:37 GMT4
I print my pictures on an Epson 2200 printer, which uses pigment inks.
Is it safe to mount these by the dry mounting method, which requires
heat? Thanks in advance for any help.

I print using an Epson 2200 printer, which uses pigment inks. Is it
safe to use a drt mounting press on these? If not, what is a good
archival mounting method?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Question about Grain Surgery from Visual Infinity23 May 2007 11:26 GMT2
I tried to post this via Google Groups earlier, but I haven't seen it,
so I apologize of YOU did.  At any rate, is Grain Surgery, or any
other plug-in more effective than a surface blur, gaussian blur, or
spot-blurring individual RGB channels?  Just curious...
Nikon 18-200 VR23 May 2007 11:23 GMT38
Many people have used this lens.
Is there any noticeable extra drain on the camera battery from the VR
mechanism?
Recommendation on Digital Camera SLR v. Regular23 May 2007 11:02 GMT8
I like the small size of a non-SLR but does any non-SLR camera have
close to the picture sharpness of an SLR?  Do all SLRs produce equally
sharp images (more or less)?
Are consumer digital cameras useless for diving?23 May 2007 10:19 GMT20
I've noticed a couple of questions regarding dive cameras so thought I'd
continue the trend. A friend spent $700 on a 6mp cannon camera with a dive
case. I've noticed most of the pictures suffered from a severe lack of light
and the camera automatically went to a long exposure ...

What does the IrfanView lossless JPEG rotation plugin "optimization"
actually do?
When I rotate a JPG digital photograph using the IrfanView "Options -> JPEG
Lossless Operations" plugin, one of the options is to "Optimize JPG file".
Advice please for a newbie23 May 2007 03:50 GMT80
What is the best camera currently available to buy today that would be most
suitable for digiscoping. I dont want a second hand one only new. I believe
that my current camera is unsuitable because of the zoom (10x is apparently
too powerful for this purpose). I would appreciate ...

I got my digital photo catalog.  Nice book, but I wonder how they can
send something like that.  Seems they would have used way more than
whatever profit they made from my purchases to send the book, let
alone producing it.  Not a complaint, just a wonderment.
flash causing round footballs23 May 2007 02:32 GMT9
I took a few photos in very dark conditions, almost black  (i.e. no
additional light of any kind) inside the house with a casio exlim ex-v7,
just to see how the flash coped.
What i got consistantly was semi-transparent pinky-orange footballs usually

Brooklyn Dealers23 May 2007 02:04 GMT12
I found a great deal on eBay, one of those almost too good to be true
deals.  (Camera comes with carrying case, filters, lenses, tripod,
etc. for about $50 more than I'd expect to pay for the camera alone.)
They operate out of Brooklyn and I've heard tales about dishonest
XD Card Error23 May 2007 00:51 GMT6
