Skin tones - little feedback, please...24 May 2007 19:24 GMT16
I took these shots yesterday for a non-profit art studio.  The
subjects are all autistic adults taking art lessons.  At any rate, the
shots are B&W, and they came off of the camera looking all blue and
grey - very mushy.  I tried to process with this in mind, and ended up

When you use the SB-600 external flash
on the Nikon D70s what is the correct

I have been told that Tiffin would not produce Kodak gray card

Anyone knows which manufacturer got the Kodak license to produce Kodak

Lens element cleaning24 May 2007 01:00 GMT3
I'm interested in hearing other people's experience of using Eclipse fluid
and pec pads for cleaning the front element on their lenses. I recently
bought some Eclipse and sensor swabs, because I need to clean my sensor. I
also bought some pec pads for my lenses.

Vista on the Mac (was: Computer)23 May 2007 23:04 GMT54
My last Windows machine finally refused to log onto the network at all
and won't talk to any printers. Rats. Well, it was getting pretty long
in the tooth and slow anyway, compared to the newer Macs.
So yesterday I installed Vista Business on the Mac, using Parallels. It

Monitor Calibration.  Colorvision Calibration Looks Incorrect23 May 2007 21:52 GMT7
I have just changed computer and from a pair of Sony Trinitron CRT monitors
to a pair of Dell Ultrasharp 1707FPV's.
I have tried to calibrate using Color vision Spider, but if gives a
red/magenta colour cast, particularly noticeable on whites and skin tones.
Memory for Samsung?23 May 2007 19:25 GMT2
Can anyone tell me the type of SD memory I can use for a Samsung S850
(Digimax) digital camera. There is very little information in the manual
other than it is guarantied to 4GB. I am interested in faster memory such
as e.g. SanDisk Ultra II with 60x speed or perhaps more, but the ...
canon 20D flash sync at 1/320?23 May 2007 19:12 GMT35
When I attach a canon speedlite 550ex (high speed sync off) on a 20D, the
shutter speed automatically reduced to 1/250s if I had it faster.
Is there a way to override this?
I found by experiment, I can flash sync at 1/320s (the experiment is done
folder naming conventions23 May 2007 16:57 GMT2
I wonder if anyone has any information on how the typical digital camera
folder naming convetions came about. I see that mostly within the memory
card there is a folder 'dcim' which most likely stands for 'Digital Camera
IMages' - quite reasonable. Then the photos are kept within a ...
How many shots per year does a typical person use his/her digital camera?23 May 2007 16:54 GMT30
My small 3 MP Panasonic/Lumix digital camera is now 4 years old. I was
surprised to know that I have clicked over 50,000 photos with it. My
newer Samsung digimax i5 is only 5 months old, and I already used it
over 3000 shots. I am not a commercial or professional, and not even
