I've a Canon S3 IS. While taking photos are night, it's getting

Also the ISO amount getting higher in the Auto mode. So the photos
taken at automode are not good enough in the day light. I used to set

Camera sensors10 May 2007 03:50 GMT12
I noticed that there are only limited sensor manufacturers for digital
cameras. For the known brands such as Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Panasonic/
Lumix, they are basically supplied by 4 companies: Canon (for Canon
cameras), Matsushita/National/Panasonic for Panasonic brands, Fuji for

Does anybody know the real difference as far as advantages and
disadvantages go between the Leica D-Lux 3 and the V-Lux 1? Has
anybody shot either cameras?
Thanks so much,
Multiple LCD Picture Frames - One Picture09 May 2007 23:30 GMT1
Is this possible?  I am looking for a simple solution for a video wall
using the now almost common picture frames available in most Best
Buys, etc.  I'd like to take 4, 6, or 8 frames and be able to show one
image, etc and run a slide show.

Is it true that an image saved in jpeg compression will deteriorate every
time it is opened and closed due to uncompression/recompression of the file?

b/w printer?09 May 2007 17:03 GMT12
Is there such a product, does anybody know? I was on here a couple of weeks
ago and I said about my elderly Parish Priest who has been a keen
photographer all his life. He is now trying to print from his huge
collection of old negatives but the ink is costing him a fortune.
repairing Nikon S409 May 2007 17:01 GMT2
My fun with the recently-bought camera continues. There was a panel
which came off the body, probably due to failed glue. I brought the
camera to the local authorised warranty repair office of Nikon, which
was staffed by an Asian guy who spoke bad English.

Question for you optical gurus...09 May 2007 16:28 GMT33
I know people sometime use "star filters" to create similar effects...
...but what exactly is going on when these bright-light star effects are
created with no such filter?
What causes it?

Tripod recommendation09 May 2007 16:03 GMT14
I am looking for a tripod to replace a cheap and wobbly one. I would
like a good quality, sturdy one that does *not* try to become a
monopod (i.e. bring all legs together) when I move it a little.
Does not need to support a lot of weight (3kg would be more than
Canon 5D with full frame sensor09 May 2007 14:36 GMT8
How does the picture quality for this camera differ from other DSLR
with smaller size sensor?
I notice that Canon boasts this as the only full frame sensor (size of
sensor - 36 mmx 24mm) in their camera line.
