damage Nikon during repair ?11 May 2007 06:25 GMT6
I was surprised to find out that the Nikon S4 camera had its body
_glued_ from the plastic bits and panels. Nikon had a reputation for
the quality (and longevity ?) of its products, yet my camera had a
panel came off because the glue failed (high humidity ?).
cannot decide after myriads of reviews...11 May 2007 06:10 GMT1
after reading more and more reviews it seems that I'm now nearly totaly
unable to chose my next digicam (no slr, too big and costly ).
In the first place I wanted more zoom than my old Canon S30, and fast
autofocussing. So I narrowed my choice to the Canon S3is and Panasonic FZ7
When Good I.S. Goes Bad11 May 2007 04:31 GMT22
I was at an indoor birthday party yesterday here in cloudy
Pennsylvania.  I have a Canon A710 and set the camera on Manual, to
shoot lots of old folks and also little kids and animules without a
flash.  TMALSS (to make a long story short), only a third of the shots
Selecting Photos for Slideshow11 May 2007 03:38 GMT6
I want to produce DVDs of photos that I & others have taken of my
family over a long period of time. I have no children, so these DVDs
are for families of brothers & sisters and for long time friends,
including my ex-wife. The problem is not knowing which photos will
How to take photos through binoculars10 May 2007 23:09 GMT4
I have a good quality digital camera and binoculars. But when I
manually hold the camera behind the binoculars, the pictures never
come out sharp. Is there some trick to getting the pictures sharp like
when you look directly through the binoculars. I have played with all

Just how bad is the purple fringeing & CA issue.
Is it something you see a lot or just when pixel-gazing.
Any other issues that , had you known, would have put you off buying it.

unsharp mask in photoshop - how?10 May 2007 20:23 GMT8
I'm rather baffled by photo sharpening in Photoshop. I've seen the
results of sharpening in Picassa but I can't figure out what the best
numbers are to enter into Photoshop. Does anyone have any guidelines
that they can share?

Olympus mju + panorama function10 May 2007 14:47 GMT3
I bought my olympus mju 700i quite long time ago, though I'd never
tried to use the panorama function since then until the last weekend.
Wanted to take a panorama picture of the mountains. As I have the
original Oly xD card I found the panorama option in the menu and
Canon S5 IS - Any downsides to this updated platform?10 May 2007 14:06 GMT17
I saw the announcement about the Canon S5 IS and it seems to be
just about as good as I could have hoped for in the category.
Improves on the S3 by going to 8 megapixels, including a hot shoe
so you can easily add an external flash, increased ISO, larger
Uniross 2500mah Batteries10 May 2007 12:10 GMT3
Does anyone use the Uniross 2500mah AA batteries?  I have 3 sets of 2500's,
one set of 2300's and a set of 2100 Hybrio. My camera is a Fuji s9500.
I have a set of 2300mah Uniross AA batteries and they outlast my 2500's
every time.  The 2300's hold some of their charge without use ...
