Converting large multiple jpegs to small files13 May 2007 16:13 GMT3
I have hundreds of very large jpeg photo files (3-6MB each) and I want
to convert them to a smaller resolution (say under 500KB each.
Can anyone recommend a method to do this with built in Windows tools
or a good free downloadable tool?

Software controllable (either USB or wireless) fully manual digital cameras13 May 2007 10:45 GMT4
I am looking for a digital camera I can control through my own
software code (i.e. C/C++) with
fully manual control over focus, exposure time, zoom and resolution.
Any recommendations
How quickly should rechargables drain?13 May 2007 10:41 GMT30
I purchased a few sets of 2800 NiMh batteries for use in my S3IS last month.
The problem is that I charged them at the time and then put them in my kit
bag only to find them completely flat when I eventually came to use them
this weekend.

+    Im still a little in the dark as to how [digital] cameras record
the image... but the following occurs to me, which perhaps some
of the experts here can comment on.

Trying to print a camera shot bigger than A413 May 2007 09:35 GMT2
Lots of people have 6,7,8 or even 10mb digital camera now, but what
good is that if you can't print them out at a large size. So why not
go to <p><a href="http://www.edigi.co.uk">www.edigi.co.uk</a></p> to

Need info on Panasonic/Lumix FZ5012 May 2007 21:41 GMT2
For those who owns the FZ50, could you tell me whether the a filter
screen can be attached to the front of the camera's lens? Is it the
standard screw-in filter typically used in old camera's lenses?  What
diameter size is the lens' filter size?  I noticed in some P&S digital
Which photo for my office?12 May 2007 20:15 GMT8
Hi:  I am trying to decide which one of the following pictures I should
enlarge and put on my office wall? I like them all, but cannot choose from
these ones.  Which one do you like best?  They were taking during a cruise
in February. None of the photos have yet been touched up with ...

New camera-have question on Adobe Photoshop Elements12 May 2007 17:08 GMT12
Excuse the newbie question.
I have a new Sony W90 digital camera as a low cost way to get into
digital photo just for fun. Nice camera for the price.
It saves pics as JPG's. There is no option to save as RAW or TIFF on
Sony Camcorder Battery Question12 May 2007 16:35 GMT5
I'm probably at risk of asking a question that has been asked many
times before, but I'm trying to figure out what type of battery I can
buy for my Sony DCR-HC47 MiniDV camcorder. I know that I have an NP-
FH40 battery that came with it, but I'm looking to purchase another
Autofocus on D80 vs D200 for action shots12 May 2007 14:49 GMT5
I have seen some comments made (in various online reviews) about the
D200's trouble autofocusing on active subjects.  Can anyone comment on
this issue, and compare the D200 performance to the D70 and D80 for
autofocus performance on moving subjects?  I already own the D70s, and
sigma SD 14 reviews?12 May 2007 14:07 GMT58
The sigma SD14 is supposedly available on the market but there is
surprisingly few reviews on it.
There are many previews and first impressions, but no full reviews I can
find.
Conversion Adobe RGB - sRGB12 May 2007 12:37 GMT3
What exactly happens when a Adobe JPEG image is converted to sRGB? Are
the highlights and shadows clipped, if the original scene had a high
dynamic range?
Canon 300D and EOS 60012 May 2007 10:20 GMT8
My standard camera is a 300D for which I have a number of accessories:
various lenses, 580EX flash, spare battery, remote release, etc.
I have an old Canon T70 which I use occasionally to shoot 35mm.
Unfortunately, although also a Canon, it is too old to share anything
