SD Card Speed for Coolpix 480029 Apr 2007 03:07 GMT3
HI all;
I am not happy with the performance of my Coolpix 4800 when saving
shots to the memory card.  I have a Kingston "budget" 1GB SD card with
no indication of "speed enhancement" like 60x or 133x.  I heard that
Newb: JPEG's Suddenly Corrupt on Hard Drive29 Apr 2007 03:05 GMT26
I have many JPEGS that were working fine previously but now are
corrupt, perhaps when they moved from one directory/hard drive to
another. When attempting to view in Windows or Irfranview or any other
program they all show as being "can't determine type".

What is going on with Ottawa camera stores?
Ginn's has no stock, claims D80s are back ordered until mid-May (they

another?
My story is that I have upgraded to a new PC, and have transferred my

Royalty Free Wildlife Images28 Apr 2007 21:46 GMT2
I am a keen amatuer wildlife photographer & have recently developed my
own small online image library. Currently there are only 200 or so
images, but some I believe are quite good. All images are royalty free
& just £3 each to download, even cheaper if you subscribe to a monthly

Megapixel setting for available light.28 Apr 2007 19:44 GMT19
In available light situations I have been taking pictures with my
FujiFilm E900 set at 5 megapixels. I can go up to a maximum of 9.1
megapixels or down to lower values. I know that higher settings
generate a larger image on the card. But is there any effect, positive

Olympus FE 230 - software wont delete pictures after transfer?28 Apr 2007 18:52 GMT5
A dept where I work just picked up an fe230 camera to record new
employee pics. For what they want I would have picked up something that
sits on a cradle and stays charged and transfers pic's with a button
push a la Kodak, but I digress.
Polarizing Filter for Canon S3 IS?28 Apr 2007 18:39 GMT16
Is a circular polarizing filter supposed to work with a Canon S3 IS when
the filter is mounted to a 52mm Canon or Lensmate adapter?  My sister has
tried her husband's PL-Cir filter that he uses on his 35mm film camera but
it seems to do nothing.  Is this perhaps because the ...

Lightroom - writing an XML-export plugin/action28 Apr 2007 15:17 GMT1
well, i think im sold on LR. ive looked at the alternatives, and it
seems to be the best combo of features i need (except for the lack of
rich in-program web sharpening. the photoshop droplet hack works for
now). only one piece is missing, and i have a complete workflow.
