How can I prevent Capture NX from starting up
all the time, whenever I open a picture.
I only want it to open when I click on the
desktop Capture NX icon.

I have always downloaded my photos on to the pc using a card reader.  I have
just bought a casio camera and it comes with a CD with:  photo loader with
'hot album'. photo transport,etc.

I'm getting really nice lighting for portraits by bouncing the flash
off the ceiling, but what if the ceiling has a tint to it? Is there a
way to account for this and correct in (on a Nikon D2Hs, for example)?

According to the user's manual of the Sony H1, you can set
flash intensity.  I can get the setting where it gives the
flash icon with a minus after it, but I cannot find how to
adjust the degree of minus or the degree of plus.
