So even Leica (well, Panasonic) is playing the fake image
stabilization game.  Instead of true image stabilization, they
incorporate a feature that ups the ISO (and hence the shutter speed)
in order to prevent camera shake.  Nice surprise.  Take an image at

I have a Digital Rebel, and my last folder number was 190.  Doesn't
mean 9000 pictures like you would think, because when I switch cards
around, I sometimes end up with only 5 pictures in 1 folder, before it
