Film to Video12 Apr 2007 03:48 GMT4
I have a lot of 8mm and 16mm film that I want to edit and put on DVD media.
When I project it on a screen and video it with a digital camera I get a lot
of flutter in the video.  Is there a way to get rid of the flutter when
converting film?

Photographing birds in flight11 Apr 2007 22:48 GMT32
I've finally purchased a longer lens for my XTi - the Canon 70-300mm DO
IS ISM.  Nice lens, the shorter physical length is a lot more stable in
my small hands.  I have been getting some very good pictures with this
lens, so I'm quite happy with it, despite the high cost.
Thumbs Plus's Photo Viewer: Standalone Execution?11 Apr 2007 22:13 GMT2
"Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" seems to take forever (like 5-6 seconds) to
open a simple .JPG.
OTOH, when I double click on a thumbnail in ThumbsPlus 7.1, it opens in a new
zoomable window in less than a second.

changing file date and time11 Apr 2007 19:26 GMT4
A friend and I went away with a Fuji S5000 and Fuji S5200 and I'd like
to coordinate our photos. I synchronized the date and time when we
started, but because of the S5000's internal battery dying a long time
ago, every time it needs new batteries, you have to set it again.

Can i connect a macro 1:1 teleconverter to an 80mm zoom lens and get
the same results as using a true macro lens? I really don't want to
buy an expensive macro lens.

Walgreens drugstore is speading like a fungus hew in NY.  I don't know
how big a chain it is, nationwide.
Is there and experience or opinion about them for printing?
Any chance their printers have known profiles?

Cheapest European country for cameras?11 Apr 2007 13:12 GMT4
I shall be visiting two or three different European countries in the
next few months. Are there any countries which are significantly cheaper
for digital camera purchase than "rip-off Britain"?
Canon G711 Apr 2007 09:14 GMT12
I'm thinking about buying the G7, but I'm wondering how users of this camera
like it. I'm also wondering about other, comparable cameras.
I used to have the Nikon 990 and felt it was adequate.
I'm a fan of Canon, but if others think other brands are as good or better
