| Current P&S cameras are PURE garbage. Here's the latest | 14 Apr 2007 07:13 GMT | 64 |
Compare their review of this piece of junk to the old C-8080, back when P&S didn't mean trash. It is clear that the advent of the $500 DSLR spelled the death of high quality P&S.

| Corrupt JPG Files | 14 Apr 2007 07:06 GMT | 19 |
I have an HP R717 camera with a load of photos (jpg) on a 1 gig SD card. The camera shows each photo preview fine and even allows me to zoom in on each one (not just a thumbnail zoom - this is a zoom of the actual picture). So it all looks fine. But, when I transfer the image

| Is anyone using 2 monitors for photo work? | 14 Apr 2007 07:01 GMT | 23 |
If so, which video card are you using to drive them? Is it possible, with PS or other program to have the photo alone on one monitor and the program controls on the other? Thanks!

I am using Photoshop CS2, with Bridge version (CS2) 1.0.0.545 (934460). I was told that this would work directly with the RAW (ARW) files from my Sony A100, but te raw files just appear as unknown file types, and I manually have to open them in the Sony RAW

| Epson Perfection scanner | 14 Apr 2007 03:21 GMT | 6 |

| 1) Sony Alpha vs Canon EOS 400D : software running on Mac OS X --- 2) RAW to TIFF conversion | 14 Apr 2007 03:10 GMT | 5 |
I'm to buy a photo camera and I really hesitate between Sony Alpha and Canon EOS 400D (the Nikon D80 is a bit too expensive for me). As of today I tend to prefer the Canon, even if a wee-bit small for my big hands, but I have a question to ask you guys about bundled softwares.

So here's the deal. I've been a confirmed film shooter for over 30 years, but it's getting to be ridiculous. The digital mindset is pervasive ("What do you mean I can't have it NOW?"), so for the past year or two I've considered alternatives. Currently, when I turn in my
