Screwed by Canon rebate.20 Apr 2007 19:19 GMT57
I know that the institution of rebates is meant to rip you off so I'm
quite anal about paying attention to the details and ALWAYS sending in
the rebate with delivery confirmation.  The delivery confirmation at
least minimizes the "Sorry, we never received your rebate" or "Sorry, ...
Check out the Lensbaby 3G!20 Apr 2007 17:28 GMT4
I recently bit the bullet and purchased a Lensbaby 3G. I have wanted
one ever since I saw an article in Shutterbug or something, but I'm
really glad I waited for version 3 because this little beauty is quite
a piece of workmanship.
Choose an Inexpensive Laminator?20 Apr 2007 16:49 GMT6
I'd like to get a decent but cheap photo and general-purpose
laminator. I was wondering
if anyone had any advice. I saw one for around 80 bucks at Sam's Club.

Underwater Housings?20 Apr 2007 15:13 GMT7
I'm curious if anyone here uses an underwater housing for their digital
camera, and what your experiences are.
We have been buying disposable waterproof cameras for snorkeling on our
vacations, but they have a number of problems:
Lightroom or Elements 5.0?20 Apr 2007 14:06 GMT12
I've got to snag a graphics program for a laptop PC (1.6ghz, 1gb RAM)
for use on the road. Lightroom and Elements 5.0 are in my budget
range, and seem to have some things in common. Any advantages to one
over the other?
Image manipulation20 Apr 2007 12:32 GMT37
In the old days, when I took pictures using either 35 or 120 films, I
sent the film to the lab for developing and printing. That was
generally the end of the story. If some of the pictures are too dark,
or too bright...., the camera store that develops the film perhaps may
Scanning old negatives20 Apr 2007 05:53 GMT17
I would like to gather opinions on the most appropriate film scanner to
purchase  to archive a collection of my late father and grandfathers b/w
negatives, mainly 6" x 4". Some are glass plate the most normal negs of
street scenes and faces in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's in ...
IS20 Apr 2007 04:37 GMT3
My first digital camera, a Sony Mavica CD1000 has IS and it takes
very good shots but only has 2.1 megapixels. I still use my Mavica
because it is so good. Having said that, I wanted a smaller, higher
megapixel camera to take with me everywhere. I bought the Canon A640
Panasonic FZ-20 low light settings20 Apr 2007 02:27 GMT40
What is the best way to set up the FZ-20 to get pics of kids in low
light?  This situation requires large lens openings, and yet
reasonably fast shutter speeds because the little brats won't sit
still.  How should I set up these things to optimize the camera:
EXIF Data as Captioin20 Apr 2007 01:33 GMT3
Does anyone know about an image management package which will print
selected EXIF data as a caption?
Data I would like could be: camera, lens, ISO, shutter, f-stop, etc.

Canon 200mm F1.8L19 Apr 2007 23:07 GMT1
Anyone know why Canon stopped making the Canon 200mm F1.8L?  I would imagine
that it was because there was not enough demand for this lens?

sd700 vs. sd80019 Apr 2007 22:29 GMT1
I'm need to buy a small camera (for days when I don't have the SLR
with me...) and am debating between Canon's SD700 and the SD800. I've
seen mixed things in the reviews re: image quality -- does anyone have
experience with the two, and an opinion to offer?
