| Minimum ppi ? | 22 Feb 2007 17:34 GMT | 18 |
I've often seen 300 ppi cited as the minimum for good quality prints. But what if an image has to be heavily cropped and there just aren't enough pixels for the desired print size at 300 ppi ?

| DMC-TZ1 Flash Pictures Issues | 22 Feb 2007 17:23 GMT | 4 |
I've had the TZ1 for some months and really like it except for its flash pictures. It seems like it prefers to take almost all flash pics at ISO 400 or close to it. The pics are just too noisy at ISO 400. My previous camera, a Canon A20, had only ISO 80 and took great

| Canon printer ink problem | 22 Feb 2007 15:47 GMT | 9 |
I am having problems with my Canon S9000. It keeps reporting cartridges as out of ink. However, if I shut it down and reboot computer, and try to print, it again shows an out-of-ink error, but-- a different color! The colors appear to be at random- one that it

| question about relationship between sensor size and print size. | 22 Feb 2007 15:37 GMT | 8 |
This is something that I'm just courious about. I understand that to determine what print size a digital camera (or scanned image) is capable of, one divides the desired dpi (e.g. 200 or 300) into the pixel dimensions produced by the camera. Now my question is if two ...

| Choice of SD card for S3IS? | 22 Feb 2007 14:44 GMT | 3 |
I bought an S3 IS at Christmas and have been delighted with it so far. My one issue is that my current memory card (a 512mb unbranded) seems to be too slow for sustained video transfer. I am thinking of buying a couple of new cards, but I am keen to be able to

| Having trouble deciding between the Nikon D80 and Canon xti- lenses decide? (very long) | 22 Feb 2007 11:45 GMT | 29 |
That subject line will probably get a lot of peoples' juices going who think it's obvious which to pick. I've had a number of digital cameras starting with the now-antique Coolpix 950 and including both later Nikon and Canon models. I now use the Canon SD 700 IS for a P&S (a real ...

Hm, very interesting article... Probably the first that I've ever seen about Nikkor 18-200 lens with less extremely good emotions than usual. http://photozone.de/8Reviews/lenses/nikkor_18200_3556vr/index.htm Just D.

| Lightoom worth it for a non-RAW shooter? | 22 Feb 2007 04:28 GMT | 3 |
I have been reading about Lightroom. (Currently using PSCS2.) I rarely shoot RAW format - generally highest quality JPEG that my two cameras will shoot. Is there any advantages to using Lightroom if I remain basically a

| What sort of lens would be best... | 22 Feb 2007 01:40 GMT | 12 |
Still learning how to use my newish Canon Digital Rebel XTi (EOS 400D)... Took pictures at a night western horse show this weekend, my Tamron f/2.8 lens had some trouble with the lighting (arena lights in a large rodeo arena), even at ISO 800. Had to use the flash to have anything ...

| Nikon VR | 21 Feb 2007 22:15 GMT | 4 |
I don't claim to be an expert, but given recent discussions I wish to point out what I know, or at least think I know. Not counting the new VRII claiming a four stop advantage, there appears to be at least two, if not three, implementations of the VR system claiming 3
