Tips on getting better results with built in flash?06 Feb 2007 07:23 GMT6
I have an ol' Canon S330. Just a basic point and shoot camera but I'm
enjoying exploring it within it's limitations until I can afford a
unit with the features I want.
I was wondering if anyone had any hints/tips/tricks on how to make
35mm slide scanners06 Feb 2007 05:01 GMT23
I have a lot of 35mm slides and some negatives I would like to scan.
The files do not have to be of commercial quality, I just want to be
able to make a 8x10 or smaller prints.
Are there any suggestions for either dedicated scanners or combos

After much discussion, looks like we didn't have that long to wait after
all.

my new Kodak Z612 Camera.
Today I went to Office Max and purchased a SanDisk 1 GB SD (SDSDB-1024)
Memory Card for my Z612 on sale for $20. Before I open the card from
computation-intensive photography operations?06 Feb 2007 00:13 GMT16
I was wonder which digital photography operations are computationally
intensive relative to the amount of data.  Compression?  HDR?  The
operations I can think of tend to have only a few seconds of
computation for a photo several megabytes in size.  The reason I ask
Chimping reaches epic and epidemic proportions!06 Feb 2007 00:06 GMT30
Yes, it was a sight to see this morning during a news briefing at the
Pentagon.  Most of the PJs there were chimping like they just fell of a
truck carrying 20,000 pounds of bananas.  I'm not sure why this was
happening, but it was funny as hell and I shook my head in disbelief.  ...
Media Reader Problem05 Feb 2007 23:00 GMT14
I have a 8 in 1 and 9 in 1 usb2.0 media reader (SD, Compact flash, ...).
My computer recognizes the reader when plugged into the USB port. But
when I insert my SD card it gives the "no disk in reader error".
I can read the SD card when it is in my camera through the cameras USB

What to do with a digital camera dipped in the sea for a ten minutes
(apart a whimsical paperweight)?
Older Nikon 75-300mm lens on a D50?05 Feb 2007 20:09 GMT9
Would the older Nikon 75-300mm lens work on my Nikon D50? It's an auto
focus lens, but it's a pretty old lens. I was told it should work, but
I need to be sure.
Adobe Lightroom05 Feb 2007 18:08 GMT15
I'm one of those lucky folks (I think) who qualifies for a free
version of Lightroom 1.0 because I had purchased RawShooter just
before Adobe bought it.  I thought I read somewhere that Adobe had
finally released it, yet all I find on their site is the beta version.

compact camera with best battery life05 Feb 2007 14:38 GMT21
I've been looking for a compact camera with very long battery life,
and so far it seems like the best ones are the Sony DSC-W30 and -W50.
Is this correct, or is there something better that I've missed?  (I've
only been looking at the low-middle price range.)
DC 210 Software05 Feb 2007 13:36 GMT20
I have a DC 210 and the software to retreive the pics does not work with WIN
XP.
Can someone point me to some software that will work?

Chimping defined05 Feb 2007 11:37 GMT36
When another photographer looks at his review screen and makes little
oo-oo-oo noises, points excitedly at the lcd, and invites other mammals
over to look also, that is chimping.
When you and I prudently review something just shot, to check focus,
