I spent some hours a couple of days ago adding comments to a set of 50
or so JPG photos in IrfanView. I also copied each comment to the IPTC
Caption field for extra protection.
I've been working on these JPGs in several programs. Editing with both

I have a new SD700 that I dropped (less than 17") and it obviously
landed on a stress point which allowed the top seam to pop open (3
little tabs with catch-holes popped to the outside of top seam).
There is nothing else wrong with the camera other than this.

Inside the microSD flash memory, and SD flash memory, there is a bit, that
once programmed, the data inside the chip becomes write-protected, and
permanent.  I searched for a tool that can program this bit, but I did not
find any.  Do you know of such a tool?  Or driver?  Or ...

Was in Tasmania on vacation; during one evening I tried to take pictures
of shearwaters (an ocean bird) coming in to their burrows at night; I
couldn't get good pics even at ISO 1600.
I then forgot to change the ISO the next day, and all my "wonderful"
