| Choice of inkjet paper | 12 Feb 2007 18:53 GMT | 40 |
I've Googled round and round and only find adverts for various papers. So what do you exhibition photographers print on? I've tried various Epson papers but they don't look like the ones I've seen in the best exhibitons - neither do my photos but let's concentrate on

Can anyone recommend a good text for beginner photographers? Digital emphasis preferred. I've acquired a digital SLR (Pentax K100D,) so I'm looking for a course of exercises to help me hone skills and habits. Figure this would be the place to start inasmuch the photography

I'm taking a beginning digital photog class, and one of the assignments calls for taking the same shot with different f/stop settings. On the Exilim Z750, the f/stop settings appear based on the zoom used, and are limited: for example, 2.8 or 4. I'm told the

| Voice memo in SLR:s | 12 Feb 2007 07:27 GMT | 31 |
I am looking into the DSLR market to find something suitable. However it seems like almost none of the newer SLR:s have a voice-memo function. How come? It's not fair that the manufacturers first lures us into a habit of using voice-memo, then when we want to upgrade, they remove ...

| How many stops do I lose to a polariser? | 12 Feb 2007 02:58 GMT | 14 |
Took some pictures the other day at Beachy Head. For those not familiar, this is a large promontory on the south coast of England, made up mainly of chalk (very much like the white cliffs of Dover). It was a bright day, with very little cloud, and a low sun shining directly on the

| The format mess | 12 Feb 2007 01:30 GMT | 8 |
When I shoot with virtually any compact camera and have the shots printed, they have to lop of the top and bottom of the image to fill the frame. With my XTi, the format fits the 6x4 print just fine. To get something printed (chemical process) on 10x15 paper, I had to make a 3:2 ...

| Boston skyline | 12 Feb 2007 01:21 GMT | 4 |
I was having problems with these shots today. The best place to get skyline shots at at the Hyatt Harborside, but it was so windy that I couldn't get my camera still. (I brought the Benbo tripod, which I'm still new with.) Next time I'll have to bring something more sturdy.

| Konica Minolta X1 short battery time | 12 Feb 2007 01:20 GMT | 5 |
I bought a new Konica Minolta X1 last summer and I'm disappointed on the short battery time. During my holiday I could only take around 50 pictures per charge (in 2560*1920, around 1,5MB each). Isn't less than one day to little? This is my first digital cam so I'm
