pixels of the wrong color08 Jan 2007 19:42 GMT8
I don't know the correct name for what I'm talking about, otherwise I
would use it.
In many of the digital pictures I've taken, a few pixels are way off
color.  For example, a few random pixels on a face might be purple or
question: negative -to- digital transition08 Jan 2007 19:02 GMT8

Several decades ago, I operated a small black and white darkroom,
printing 5x7x and 8x10s from 35mm negatives.

How to Protect Gear to shoot while Fishing?08 Jan 2007 17:59 GMT3
I will soon get the opportunity to fish (Salmon and Steelhead) and shoot
pictures that could be used in a magazine.   This brings up an interesting
question... what is the best way to protect your gear so you could fish and
still flip over to shooting shots with your expensive ...
Thoughts on Canon EF 28-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens?08 Jan 2007 17:22 GMT5
I am not quite ready to step up to an L series lens or I would have thought
about the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.   The price is a little more than I am
ready for and if I were to step up, I would want it to be a fast lens
(f/2.8)... which would really up the price.
Nikon D50 and Sigma 18-50 & 55-200 lens kit08 Jan 2007 15:08 GMT3
I bought my Nikon D50 camera about a year ago, and have finally got
sick and tired of the 28-80mm lens it came with. I found some great
deals on a Sigma 18-50mm and 55-200mm lens kit (comes with lenses,
carry bag and microfiber cloth) for 200 bucks. I saw also a Sigma
Canon PowerShot A540 taking lousy pictures????08 Jan 2007 12:17 GMT8
I have been using a digital camera for many years.  My first Camera
was a  Fuji 2600Z which has been a great camera.  Unfortuately, during
my last vacation it was dropped a couple of times and it didn't fare
too well.  So, I decided to get myself a new camera.  After a lot of
Is that a Terabyte in your pocket or are you just really happy to see my laptop?08 Jan 2007 10:10 GMT1
Let's face it, photographers have a real problem on their hands. How
to store, view, share and transport their ever increasing image
libraries. So whenever a manufacturer breaks another barrier we
celebrate for a little while, get down to working with the new
January 2007 - The Nikon D80 digital slr is still Nikon's most popular camera08 Jan 2007 10:06 GMT1
It will be interesting to see what happens as we go further into the
new year, but currently the Nikon D80 dslr is the most popular Nikon
camera on my website. Looking around the web I see the same scenario
playing out at numerous other digital camera websites. The over all

Found A Free Online Backup Service From AOL08 Jan 2007 05:10 GMT3
Yesterday's NY Times web site had an article highlighting online backup
services, and they noted that AOL offers a free backup, with 5 G of storage
space, at their xdrive.com website.
I set up service with them yesterday, and it appears that there is no
PNG file size large than TIFF's08 Jan 2007 04:36 GMT14
i heard PNG gets a very good compression algorithm.  but, when i tried
to convert ( using ImageMagick ) some of my tiff images ( digital

Any idea if this Patriot Card Reader supports SDHC - High Capacity cards? I
didn't find any info on the Internet about this reader even on the
developer's site. Maybe anybody has his own experience? It's a pretty small
taking picture of police car08 Jan 2007 04:09 GMT205
Today I walked in the city centre in the shopping mall street. A police car
stopped and the policemen walked away from it. I looked inside their locked
car; there was an LCD screen there. The message on the screen said that
there was a strange man on the loose, and there was a name ...
