Remote shutter release for Nikon Coolpix 870013 Jan 2007 15:23 GMT10
Thank you in advance for your help.
I shot with a Nikon Coolpix 8700 and need some type of remote shutter
release that will allow me to be about 12 feet away from the camera.
Using the self timer feature would be useless for my needs. I live in a
What do you use to batch rename imported photos?13 Jan 2007 15:11 GMT8
I have a Canon S3 using Windows XP & Picasa (have Photoshop too) and
would love if my Canon would allow me to have a custom filename, but it
doesn't so I use Magic File Renamer everytime after I import photos
(using the format YYYY-MM-DD_HHMM-SS.jpg).
A bridge too far: Canon S3? No. Panasonic FZ50? Er, no. Fuji 9600(9100)... er.... um....13 Jan 2007 10:44 GMT54
Ok, a couple of months ago I bought 4Gb's worth of SD cards to try and
force myself to choose between an S3 and an FZ50 (both take SD). Now,
reluctant to support Panasonic's sensor, and desperate for more EVF
resolution than Canon are prepared to offer, I find myself aiming
phote enhance program13 Jan 2007 09:09 GMT10
Ever see on thouighs tv shows where they take a picture and blow it up ans
digitally enhance it so a small picture becomes crystal clear like when they
are looking for a liscence plate number from a satelite?  I have some small
pictures that when I enlarg them they become grainy ...
Digital Photo Transfer via Pocket PC Card Reader?13 Jan 2007 07:51 GMT1
Hi all, I will be traveling with my D70, CP7900 and my Pocket PC and
I'm looking for a way to transfer my digital photos and movies from CF
& SD cards directly to my iPAQ 6925 Pocket PC. This device only has a
mini-SD slot, so I can't slip in the CF or SD cards directly. I will
Is This A Good Time To "Upgrade" P&Ss?13 Jan 2007 05:40 GMT19
I'm in the market for a new point and shoot, having returned the DSLR
that was ultimately a great disappointment.  Ideally, I'd like a7+ MP
camera with image stabilization.  I got addicted to Canon's swing out
LCD.
Electronics replacing mechanical parts13 Jan 2007 05:18 GMT11
Okay...so is it really needed  for a DSLR (or any digital camera)
camera ? I am talking about the mechanical shutter...Why cant you make
the 'shutter' with  electronics ? Just activate the sensor only for the
required time instead of permanently enabling the sensor and using a

30D - Image review via PDA ?13 Jan 2007 03:57 GMT11
I've had a couple of times recently when I really could
have done with reviewing a shot on a bigger screen than
that on the back of the camera. I have no desire to lug
a laptop around with me. does anyone know of/have
Perceived Image sharpness & MTF12 Jan 2007 23:32 GMT7
My question regards an observation that I´ve made in comparing MTF
curves for analog and digital imaging systems with the perceived
quality of pictures made with the two different systems. There are a
lot of websites out there that do compare digital and analog images
How to get good scans of dark slides?12 Jan 2007 22:55 GMT3
I have a large collection of old slides from the 60s and 70s. I bought
an HP Scanjet 4890 scanner and have been scanning them into digital
form, TIFFs.  A few are dark, underexposed. When you preview these
slides with the HP scan utility preview function, ones that are dark
