Question on D-SLR's28 Dec 2006 15:49 GMT2
I'm relatively new to the digital SLR family of cameras, but had a
general question about them. I bought my wife a Canon Digital Rebel XT
for Christmas, but after getting it home and reading the owners manual,
found out that you must take a picture looking through the viewfinder, ...
Recommendations Sought - 2nd Nikon Body28 Dec 2006 15:33 GMT3
Hello All, some time ago I posted some questions concerning my
purchasing a Nikon DSLR.  In the end I selected the D200 with the
18-70mm Kit lens and I am very pleased with this purchase.  I want to
thank all those who contributed to the discussion.
Complete novice looking for help28 Dec 2006 14:37 GMT7
Ok, so here's the story so far. I love the idea of moving from the
point and click photography of many years taking the usual family
pictures to more artistic photography, particularly portraights and
movement (sport, dance, etc, which is my professional background).

Memory card question--Sony or SanDisk28 Dec 2006 04:25 GMT9
I have a Sony Handycam and I want to buy a larger memory card.  It
came with a Sony Stick Duo Adaptor.  Can I use a SanDisk Memory Stick
PRO Duo which costs a third of the Sony brand?  What is the difference
between the two?
canon photoshoot on xp laptop28 Dec 2006 04:19 GMT3
I have a Canon PhotoShoot S500 and I'm trying to install the driver
onto a Dell Latitude D620 laptop running windows XP.  The wierd thing
is this, the driver installs, but when I plug the usb cable connected
to the camera into the laptop, the laptop does not detect its presence.
Image Stabilization vs Noise28 Dec 2006 04:16 GMT46
Based on some published information from a review site, IS point and
shoot camera seem to be more noisy than non IS camera. This I'm
blaiming on electrical pickup from the piezo motors used to move
either a lens element  or the sensor.

I've owned two HP multifunction printers, most recently HP 2351, but both
flash too bright with digital cameras?28 Dec 2006 03:01 GMT11
I have a Canon A520 and a Sony DSC H1.  When shooting
indoors, both cameras invariably shoot too bright - the
flash is too much for the setting.
The Sony has a setting for lowering the flash but even with

ok, the subj is a bit confusing. I have salvaged a bunch of really old
photos recently and scanned them as well. I have two very elderly
relatives left who can identify the pictures (like 15 shoe boxes worth)
and i have begun to see that many of the pictures have interesting

Canaon Sure Shot A95 Problem: Dropped on Floor27 Dec 2006 19:30 GMT2
My daughter's Canon A95 was dropped on a hard surface. The only damage
that I see is the clip that holds the strap has broken off and the top
piece that houses the zoom switch and shutter release is lifted. I
tried pressing it back and looks like it should snap on but it won't.
