Ok, so here's the story so far. I love the idea of moving from the point and click photography of many years taking the usual family pictures to more artistic photography, particularly portraights and movement (sport, dance, etc, which is my professional background).

I have a Sony Handycam and I want to buy a larger memory card. It came with a Sony Stick Duo Adaptor. Can I use a SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo which costs a third of the Sony brand? What is the difference between the two?

I have a Canon PhotoShoot S500 and I'm trying to install the driver onto a Dell Latitude D620 laptop running windows XP. The wierd thing is this, the driver installs, but when I plug the usb cable connected to the camera into the laptop, the laptop does not detect its presence.

Based on some published information from a review site, IS point and shoot camera seem to be more noisy than non IS camera. This I'm blaiming on electrical pickup from the piezo motors used to move either a lens element or the sensor.

My daughter's Canon A95 was dropped on a hard surface. The only damage that I see is the clip that holds the strap has broken off and the top piece that houses the zoom switch and shutter release is lifted. I tried pressing it back and looks like it should snap on but it won't.
