Digital Rebel Disappointment10 Dec 2006 11:44 GMT31
This is the last time I'll post about my absolute underwhelm-ment with
the 400D.  I thought I'd think I died and went to heaven with this
camera.  I've taken your comments about my "BUSY" problem and believe
I've gotten a handle on it, but I just feel so disappointed with this
D40 takes 18-70mm?10 Dec 2006 07:56 GMT3
Will the new Nikon D40 accept the Nikkor D 18-70mm AF-S kit lens?
Are there any functional limitations?
I heard there was some problem with fitting this lens to the D50.
Thank you,
Epson Stylus Photo RX580 Question10 Dec 2006 06:40 GMT3
Just read some reviews on the Epson Stylus Photo RX580 All-in-One
Printer/Scanner.  It seems to have lots of nice features, even when not
connected to a PC, and print quality seems good from the customer
reviews I've read at Amazon and Circuit City websites.

best way to sharpen photos?10 Dec 2006 04:32 GMT6
I scanned an old photo with a hi res scanner. The resulting scan has a lot
of noise and is not very sharp.
There are programs like neatimage to reduce noise that is more sophiscated
than the blur filter in photoshop. Are there also sophiscated program to
How are standards for components like Firewire connectors created?10 Dec 2006 04:27 GMT9
As noted in a previous thread, I had problems with a Firewire 4-pin
connector in a camcorder and after giving it a close examination
realized that the configuration for the port is ill conceived.  The
cable end has 4 flat contacts embedded in plastic material, while the

Sharpening & Noise Reduction- In Camera, or After?10 Dec 2006 01:38 GMT7
I use a Panasonic LX1 (my first digital) and have been having fun
learning my way around.  I've also received good advice from this
newsgroup about several topics, including noise reduction.  Because my
camera choice has proven to be very noisy above 100 ISO, and I knew this

Nikon D40 shipping today09 Dec 2006 23:33 GMT88
From Camera World / Ritz.
Just ordered mine minutes ago. Really looking forward to this -- I've been
waiting for something substantially smaller and lighter than my D70s with
18-70, and this looks perfect.
card readers and Xd cards09 Dec 2006 23:09 GMT9
I bought a Fuji F30 which I like, but the Xd cards it uses will not work in
the two card readers I have. Both have Xd slots and are supposed to work.
I just bought the second one, an i dot connect from New Egg along with a 1
gig type H Xd card and it will not work.  I don't ...
