WIndows said it can't complete the format, so I tried DOS and this is

Is there a forum for nikon film scanners? I just started to archive my old
negatives using a LS-40.
I have several questions:
(1) in batch scanning film strip, how do I set the digital ICE -- do I set

Does anyone know of software that will do this, preferable in batch
mode, and free?  Seems like such an obvious thing, so why don't all
photo importing programs offer to do this?

Although besides the indoor shots are a little bit dark because of the
limited flash capabilities.... If I take a shot outdoors, often not
they appear to be somewhat blurry.  Blurry... beyond the repair of the
"sharpen" filter on my image editing software.

I'm using a webcam app that will allow a "PhotoPC compatible" camera to be
used as a source....   but you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a place
that sells old serial based digital cameras.  There's always eBay, and I'm
workin' on that...   but man, it'd be nice if you ...

when shooting raw, what settings should you care about (ie, what
settings can you not modify afterwards)...
obviously focal lens, ISO (if analog amplification), aperture, shutter
