Sony DSC R1 vs. Samsung Digimax Pro 81525 Dec 2006 03:07 GMT12
I heard many times on this newsgroup and other forums about a
"superior" Sony R1 camera, and was lusting for it for sometime because
of its good big lens, swivable LCD screen and "semi-professional"
functionalities. Only recently I learnt that there was another camera
D100 D200 Errr message25 Dec 2006 02:07 GMT9
I have a D100 that occasionally shows an Errr message when you hit the
shutter. It doesn't actually take a picture but starts. Sounds like the
mirror locks up and then you have to hit the shutter again to clear it. Took
it in but the service guy couldn't make it do it. I stopped ...

Early merry Christmas to all24 Dec 2006 19:58 GMT3

Does your camera "lift"?24 Dec 2006 19:22 GMT4
Imagine you are at a red light.  When the light turns green, you stomp
on the gas.  For a very brief second, the car's front end feels as
though it lifts up.
Similarly, I have a Nikon D100 mounted on a Manfrotto 3039 head, aimed
If all else fails, I can always sell cameras24 Dec 2006 18:04 GMT5
A couple of years ago (a few?), I was really tired of my old Olympus 1.3MP
camera and desperately wanted a new one. After reading everything I could
find, I decided on the then-new Canon S1 IS. It had all of the features I
wanted, so I decided to treat myself to a new camera on ...
Question about Mini DV Camcorders24 Dec 2006 16:48 GMT12
I have a old hunker JVC VHS-C Camcorder. It does the job, however its
bulky, and cannot plug into my computers without a Video Capture
device, which can be hard to find these days.
I played with some of the newer Mini DV and DVD-RAM (Sony and Panasonic

Storage & retrieval of movie still photos?24 Dec 2006 16:02 GMT7
over the years I gathered thousands of stillphotos, I mean real photoprints, 20 x 30 cm.
I would like to digitally scan those, store in .jpg or .bmp, comment and archive them.
Archive them in a way that I could look up say a director and the actors he has directed; or an
actor and ...

picture project 1.524 Dec 2006 15:43 GMT3
I brought a Nikon D70 somet ime ago and it came with Picture Project 1,  I
see now that people are buying Nikon D70's with Picture Project 1.5.  Is
there any reason why I would want to upgrade the software to the newer
version while keeping the D70?
