Canon in D27 Nov 2006 01:36 GMT31
As I type this, I'm listening to "Canon In D", a Baroque piece
composed by Alfred Pachelebel.  I'll bet Nikon doesn't have a song
named after it; let alone a classic!  ;)
Time lapse films of Bristol27 Nov 2006 01:34 GMT2
Just read an article about this guy in a local rag and thought I'd share - I
must admit I hadn't thought of looking for timelapse stuff on YouTube - but
then I'm stoopid like that :-)

Image size for PowerPoint/Keynote27 Nov 2006 01:11 GMT2
I am hoping to do a slide presentation using Apple's Keynote, which I
understand is similar to PowerPoint. In terms of file size, how big
should an image be to retain sharpness on an "average" size screen (say
a five-foot wide screen at 15 feet or so)?

Another Novice Question26 Nov 2006 23:21 GMT5
Can someone explain the relative merits of .RAW files versus .TIF files.
Which is best or for what purposes are they best used.
PBase question26 Nov 2006 21:35 GMT3
I just opened a pbase account. I'm probly missing something quite elementary
but how does one set the image view(default size). As it stands now it is
set to a thumb nail small. I'd like it to go straight to large. How would I
go about this? TIA
Canon SLR Custom Function Question26 Nov 2006 21:23 GMT1
I have a 20D and am curious about custom function 18 (Add Original Decision
Data ).
I understand that this adds a checksum to the image file to prove that the
file is as it came from the camera, and/or if it has been altered since.
Lee Miller info please26 Nov 2006 21:06 GMT2

Anyway I've had bugger all luck. Anyone know of good online sites or books?

A Novice Question (D70)26 Nov 2006 19:59 GMT5
Could someone let me know if the D70 Nikon will take black & white
photos?????
TIA - Chuck.
Sony H526 Nov 2006 17:30 GMT9
Anyone have this camera?  I'm highly considering it, but can't find
anyplace where they have a working model on display.  I have to buy it, try
it, and then if I don't like it pay the 15% restocking fee (about $60).
TIA

Coolpix 8800 lens alternatives26 Nov 2006 17:10 GMT2
Can anyone advise me on lens alternatives for the Coolpix 8800. I am
interested in both a telephoto lens to extend the range of my camera as
well as a wide angle lens.
The recommended lenses from Nikon are:
Kingston CF/4GB card26 Nov 2006 14:41 GMT22

I need a particular type of Kingston CF/4GB card for a project and
unfortunately they are no longer produced.
The card I need can be identified by the part number on the back
SLR for < ~$1100 US recommendations or flames?26 Nov 2006 14:37 GMT23
I'm so tired of my old Olypmus "brownie" that takes seconds to decide
when to grab an image - I want to get back to a SLR type body and lense
that takes a pic WHEN I press the button - used to do do a lot of 35mm
and
Zoom Clarification26 Nov 2006 14:36 GMT6
A point of confusion: For example, what does zoom 6.7X mean?  Is that the
multiplier if one uses the smallest to the largest image a camera can
record?  What is the reference?  A friend of mine asked me and I'm not
certain that I told her correctly.
