Best movie quality from digital (still) camera's07 Nov 2006 19:28 GMT5
Does anyone know of a good comparisson of the quality (image AND sound)
of the current (end 2006) digital photo camera's?
I've had a Olympus C8080 with **excellent** movie quality, both sound
and image, but switched to an Nikon D70, wich has, being a DSLR, no
"Advanced" image processing07 Nov 2006 17:38 GMT49
Just curious if anybody knows techniques to substantially enhance images
taken under bad lighting or weather conditions. For instance if you shot
photos on an overcast, dark day, if there is a way to make these photos
shine. Would it be possible to transform an overcast sky into ...
Lawyers and camera user manuals.07 Nov 2006 17:08 GMT24
These excerpts are from two different pages of the same camera user's manual.
"Once an image is erased, it cannot be recovered. Make sure that you no
longer need the image before erasing it."
"Formatting a CF card will erase everything on the card. Even protected

Used 20D vs D70s07 Nov 2006 09:20 GMT14
I have now hand-tested (how does it feel?) D70s, D50 and 400D. 400D
feels too small for my hands, and the kit zoom is awful. D70s is my
favourite, and will see if it gets discounted as sort of stock
clearance.

Nikon D40 - AF-S lenses only?07 Nov 2006 04:10 GMT26
So now there are supposedly leaked photos and info about the D50
replacement, the D40, on some european site and Ken Rockwell's site. Now
I know that this info isn't straight from Nikon but the one thing that
doesn't make sense is the report that the camera can only use AF-S
50mm vs 18-70 vs 17-200 lens test07 Nov 2006 03:44 GMT6
I spent a couple of minutes trying this today. I took four photos of the
same scene, at f/8, 1/80 second, ISO 200, at 50mm. I used three Nikon
lenses: 50/1.8 prime, 18-70 kit, and 17-200 VR lens with VR on and off.
(All shots handheld.) I then cropped to a small area I'd focused ...
I Do *Not* Understand "Program Mode"07 Nov 2006 03:13 GMT10
I've read the manual (on my PowerShot A620).  I use, successfully,
Manual Mode all the time.  I've used Shutter Priority Mode successfully
(Aperture, never).
Now that I'm awaiting my Rebel XTi, I would just like to know exactly
Canon SD900: First impressions (Has anybody else tried it?)07 Nov 2006 03:00 GMT4
Has anyone else here tried or bought the new Canon Digital Elph SD900?  I
recently bought one on sale ($399 at Dell.com), and I'm interested to see
what others think about the camera.  I'm having trouble finding any
discussions about this new flagship Elph camera, and reviews are ...
PS Elements 4 - Opinions Please07 Nov 2006 02:10 GMT8
Looking to buy PS Elements but the reviews on elements 4 seem very mixed -
particularly with respect to the file management slowing systems down.
Anyone experienced this?  Can it be used as an image editor only and use
other (Iview Media) file management software alongside it or is ...
