How does gamma correction reduce noise?15 Nov 2006 01:35 GMT2
I read in an old thread that gamma correction does reduce the
quantization noise in an image by pre-emphasising and de-emphasising
like Dolby does on analog audio. As my understanding of that topic is
rather poor can someone please explain to me how that works?

Both my mum in law and myself have panasonic dvd recorders which have
a slot for sd cards, but both of us have cams which take xd cards. Is
there such a thing as a genuine adapter to plug an xd card into an sd
slot?

Red and blue lines in my Sony DSC F717 photos14 Nov 2006 15:50 GMT7
Hi, recently i started to notice that some pictures that i was taking
with my Sony DSC F717 had blue and red lines across the entire image. I
dont know if my camera is fried or what is really going on. Some pics
are ok but others have those lines. Can somebody help? Thanks!

I have a Kodak EasyShare DX7630 with an EasyShare printer dock. Does
anyone know how to transfer the photos from the camera to my hard
drive? I don't want to use Kodak's crappy software I just want the
jpgs. I found the jpgs on a folder on my E drive but I got a memory
