RAW...then Photoshop is this not Cheating.17 Nov 2006 03:53 GMT65
Taking pictures in RAW and then knowing
you did not train and discipline yourself
to understand light metering and no matter
how you botch up taking a picture, there is

Do you own a portfolio of images which you believe have the potential
to be sold or licensed? Have you been turned down by mainstream
photo-stock companies or are you put off by having to share your income
with these companies? If so, why not advertise your portfolio on

Lens of 2.8 vs. 4.016 Nov 2006 17:02 GMT3
I am thinking of buying a dslr, and I have a choice of one of two lenses.
One has less of a telephoto capacity but with a 2.8 f-stop.  The other has
better capacity but has a 4.0 f-stop.  Does the 1.2 difference mean much?
Thanks.
Mask filters for changing photo format?16 Nov 2006 15:34 GMT8
Didn't quite know how to say it, so that subject line might be a bit
obtuse.
I've got a Nikon D70s, though this is not necessarily a digital
question.
Rebel XTi basic lense16 Nov 2006 15:25 GMT10
I am convinced on the Rebel XTi.  I am just a hobbyist and this will be my
first dSLR.  My question is this.  Should I upgrade from the 18-55 basic
lense?  Is there much of a difference between it and, I believe it's the
18-70?  Also what would be a good telephoto?  Thanks.

Canon 28-135 USM IS Ultrasonic AF ZOOM Lens Shake16 Nov 2006 14:57 GMT18
just a question, I have just bought on ebay a Canon 28-135 USM IS
Ultrasonic AF ZOOM Lens. It looks like working well, but I noticed that
the front lens support (the one on where the front lens is attached) is
moving a little bit, as is not really fixed on the rest of the body of
Amount of black in color photos?16 Nov 2006 14:30 GMT6
Hi all. I recently purchased some non-OEM ink for my Canon MP730
printer...and it sucked!  It's a CMYK printer and I replaced the CM&K
with the crappy ink. The output on color photos was terrible. It looked
washed out and faded; just really really bad. So I replaced the C & M
Want advice on Lens for Pentax K100D16 Nov 2006 08:53 GMT5
I'm ready to make the switch to Digital SLR.  Have been using the Olympus
C2100UZ, 2 MPixl, with 10X stabilized lens.  I've been very happy with the
results from image stabilization.  Use it a lot for nature photos and the
10X zoom worked real well for me.
Exposure compensation16 Nov 2006 05:55 GMT6
OK, I'm a little confused. It has been years since I did any serious
photography and I'm staggered at what I have forgotten.
These new digital cameras have lots of easy ways to dial in +ve or -ve EV in
increments (mine is 0.3, 0.5 or 1 depending on how you customise it). I can
