| pocket digicam with good glass | 18 Nov 2006 12:57 GMT | 18 |
I'm looking for recommendations for a smaller digicam (e.g. not a DSLR) with good glass. Budget is up to $800 (US). IS would be nice but is not necessary. Flip-out LCD screen is nice, but not necessary. Thanks!

| Resolution, dpi, & pixelation for printing. | 18 Nov 2006 10:26 GMT | 13 |
Hi all. I just sent out a bunch of pictures to get processed. They were taken with my new Canon A640 (10MP). I re-sampled the pix using Corel Photopaint to 1024 x 768 to print 4" x 6" prints, because 10MP are too big to upload. I believe that is the correct resolution to use,

Anybody have words of wisdom about longevity of inkjet Matte papers? According to Wilhelm's testing they are more durable against fading than glossy "Photo" papers. Friends who use Epson Heavyweight Matte on an Epson 2400 report many years of non-fading display.

| Help Me I Am Stupid | 18 Nov 2006 03:27 GMT | 32 |
I cannot wrap my brain around the following: I have a small-pixel size photograph, 92, that I really need badly to "blow up" to 300 DPI or greater. Last night I purchased a JPEG to PDF converter for around $30. The software worked fantastically, but I did not check to see if

| Two-Eyed Viewfinders | 17 Nov 2006 19:58 GMT | 13 |
For years I always took pictures using one eye looking through a viewfinder. Now I have a Panasonic TZ1 that has no viewfinder and I find that I take better pictures using the display screen. I am able to evaluate the scene on the screen more objectively using both eyes. I look ...
