Memory card for casio ex-z75022 Nov 2006 08:49 GMT3
I've just purchased a Casio EX-Z750 and am looking at additional
memory.
Im looking at either a 1gb or 2gb card (prolly a 2gb) but there is a
vast range of write speeds directly related to price.
Gamma & linearity - how to use them22 Nov 2006 07:03 GMT5
I use ufraw (Linux) for raw conversion. In the "color" section of ufraw
there are controls for gamma (default value 0.45) & linearity (default
value 0.10). I tried to read about them and found a lot of mathematical
explanation for each but unfortunately all those went well over my ...
Sony or Canon DSLR 10 MP carmera?22 Nov 2006 05:43 GMT25
I have been looking at the Canon 10MP DSLR camera but have come across the
Sony(alpha) DSLR-A100.  Is the Sony camera a better camera?  I like it
because it can use the old Minolta lens I have.  Or would I be better off
with the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Camera ?
Slide show22 Nov 2006 05:43 GMT9
Is this the correct group to inquire about making a slide show with sound
from digital vacation photos?
Thanks,

Image enlargement software22 Nov 2006 04:49 GMT10
I have some old, lower resolution images which occasionally need to be
enlarged (pixel count needs to be increased). A friend recommended
Photozoom, but after giving it a try I'm not that impressed (fail to see
visible improvements over a simple bicubic interpolation enlargement) ...

"Real-time" slideshow software22 Nov 2006 03:37 GMT13
I just searched this NG and it seems that all of the threads revolve around
"off-line" software, that is you specify pictures and transition methods,
start "show renderer" and wait. Then some kind of animation file (SWF, MPG,
WMV or proprietary format) is produced that you can ...
ProShow Gold Problem22 Nov 2006 03:07 GMT23
Looking for good easy-to-use slideshow software (for DVD's), I
downloaded the 15-day trial version of ProShow Gold.  This evening, I
made my first DVD.  Although the software was very easy to use, I find
that the slideshow audio cuts in and out when playing the DVD on my

slideshow software - plus22 Nov 2006 01:52 GMT4
I've been following the slide show software discussion. One thing I did
not see mention was the following: Since my digital camera can take mini
movies as well as photos, is there software that can incorporate the two
 intermingled together for a presentation?
Camera reccommendation22 Nov 2006 01:16 GMT5
I've been lurking here trying to get an idea what I need to
get high quality images for my website. I am, by no means,
a seious photographer. What I do, I do well....but it is not
photography. However, I am confident with practice and
Kodak V550 problems, and ideas for replacement21 Nov 2006 21:26 GMT1
Was wondering if I'm alone in the problems I've had with a Kodak V550?
Shortly after purchasing it, it developed fine-pitched lines through the
pictures.  Kodak fixed it under warranty.  Neither Kodak nor the store I
purchased the camera through would offer an extended warranty ...
Megapixel vs. Zoom21 Nov 2006 18:36 GMT49
I am looking for a starter camera for deer photography. I want a small point
and shoot to start with. I like the Powershot G7 (10 megapixels with 6X
zoom), and the Powershot S3IS(6 megapixels with 12X zoom).
Is it better to have a bigger zoom, or a bigger megapixel to crop on my

Essentially I purchased this camera with the intention of taking photos
