Sony H1 flash too bright?25 Oct 2006 15:07 GMT6
I frequently find that when using my H1 indoors, portraits
and such, the flash is much too bright and washes out the
person's face.  Is there a setting I'm not aware of that can
adjust this?  Or any way to avoid it?
Canon/Nikon, New/Used?25 Oct 2006 13:50 GMT17
OK, no religious wars, please...
We are thinking of getting a dSLR, and initially cirling on Canon or
Nikon due to availability of used fixed-length lenses.
We will be looking at the lower end, 350d/400d/D50/D70s/D80 and spend a

Photoplus Editing Question25 Oct 2006 10:09 GMT2
I love this software and have used it for many editing jobs, but
there's so much I don't understand about it.  I don't even comprehend
half of the terms used (and have read the Help section often).  Anyway,
I'm wondering what tool or menu choice you make if you want to change
Photo sharing25 Oct 2006 04:17 GMT40
I would like to share my digital photos within a group but I'm not able
to find a website that allows you to create a community group where to
share photos with unlimited storage. Any ideas?
Thanks!

store unlimited amounts of photos or videos? What kind and size of
storage system is required to do this?

What is an affordable, versatile scanner for negatives and prints?24 Oct 2006 23:48 GMT32
[Note Followup-to: redirect to rec.photo.digital only, which you can
ignore if you want.]
While I'm aware, from reading some earlier threads on scanners
in these groups, that this is a "semi-dumb" question, I haven't quite
DV Camcorder - Burning problem24 Oct 2006 23:18 GMT6
New to this world of amazing IT. Bought a laptop recently, and tried to
connect my DV Camcorder to it to burn DVD's.
The footage has been taken from my DVD and is now on my laptop, via a
USB as there is no firewire port on the laptop.
transferring photos24 Oct 2006 21:57 GMT4
I'd like to transfer my foto albums from the Kodak website (minimum
yearly purchase required) to another website, without losing
resolution. Can I do this, or do I have to upload from hard drive again?
Digital resizing- Help on Boy scout eagle project24 Oct 2006 21:43 GMT17
My son is working on an Eagle Boy Scout eagle project. The project is
to provide Children picture id cards for parents. If a child "goes
missing" at the mall or park the parent can produce a picture id card
with height, weight, hair color, eye color ,etc. This way the police

Fujifilm FinePix S520024 Oct 2006 21:22 GMT2
I'm looking at purchasing the Fujifilm FinePix S5200. Consumer Reports
rates this a 79/100 and is a CR best buy. Does anyone have any
experience with this unit? Good / Bad ?
Thanks,
Kodak DX 7440 Reinserting Lens24 Oct 2006 21:05 GMT5
It finally happened....my Kodak DX7440 was on a tripod and the wind
blew it over.  To my dismay, the whole lens and barrel seperated from
the camera body.  Surprisingly, there doesn't appear to be any broken
parts.  There are three little pegs that fit into grooves in the barrel
Canon I5000 Printer24 Oct 2006 16:51 GMT2
I am looking for a software program that would or could be setup to
automatically send a test page to my printer. The reason for this would
be to keep the print heads working properly and not plug or dry out to
non-use. I have a continuous ink supply for my printer that works
