Nikon to Pentax lens mount adapter06 Oct 2006 01:26 GMT3
Has anyone heard of or know of a mount adapter to go from Nikon mount
lens to Pentax bayonet mount? I have a whole bunch of great lenses for
my old Nikormat and bought a Pentax k100 on which I would truly love
to mount those lens even in manual mode. I, or rather my wife, has a

About two weeks ago SanDisk was advertising that it would include
Capture 1 LE on its Extreme III CF cards. Anyone know if this promotion
has started? Good excuse for another CF card.

rank amateur needs advice on Antarctic trip05 Oct 2006 16:54 GMT8
I recently bought a Nikon D70 with a Nikon 18-70mm and a Nikon 70-300mm
lenses off e-bay. All seems fine and I have taken some good photos - no
problems.
But I am now going to Antarctic in December and as a once ever type
Canon S3 report05 Oct 2006 16:25 GMT7
I've had my Canon S3 IS for about 3 1/2 weeks. Not very impressive.  About
200 shots, some for testing purposes in different modes.  Since I walk the
smart side of dumb with digital settings, most pic's were on the auto
setting, which I know the S3 is not a camera to be simply left ...
corrupt CF05 Oct 2006 16:22 GMT14
So about a month ago my 1gb Lexar compact flash started coming up curropt. I
quickly bought a recovery program which seems to work fine. I always
reformat the card on the computer and then again in the camera (Rebel XT).
But the darn thing now seems to come up corrupt about 1 in 4 ...
ITPC editors05 Oct 2006 16:13 GMT3
I am trying to catalogue a whole heap of images.  I would really like to
use the proper ITPC protocol so that they can be easily searched if I
ever try to sell any.  At the moment I am using Bridge to edit the metadata.
What I would like to know is there any software out there ...

Difference beteween 200mm & 300mm05 Oct 2006 10:27 GMT15
I was looking at f2.8 telephoto zoom lenses. I looked at a Sigma 70-200 f2.8
for $889.00 US and a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 for $2399.00 US.  After comparing
the 300mm setting with the approximate 200mm setting on my Quantary 70-300,
it didn't seem that there was that much difference to ...
128MB CF, $550.29, what a deal!05 Oct 2006 07:59 GMT12
What is going on with CF memory card prices on Ritz Camera's web site?  They
have a whole bunch of listings of older, low capacity CF cards at outrageous
prices!
For instance:
NEAT IMAGE05 Oct 2006 07:59 GMT2
I am using a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 digicam and have taken some photos at
400ISO: some of these show a lot of noise.
With a noise reduction programme it looks as though the noise factor
can be virtually eliminated and I am looking at Neat Image: I am trying
10MP compacts. I am not impressed05 Oct 2006 04:46 GMT25
While not all 10MP cameras were reviewed, I have to say, so far, I am not
impressed with what I'm seeing. For one thing, Noise reducing algorithms are
taking their toll at even at lowest ISO settings. There are two main problem
areas I'm concerned with. One is the noise hash ...
