I recently bought an Olympus C-8080 and like it a lot.  I am taking
portraits with it in my studio. My previous camera was the C-3000.  The
C-8080 seems to take even longer to fire than the C-3000 even though I
am pre-setting the white balance to daylilght so it doesn't have to

A friend gave me this underwater housing and said good luck finding the
camera to fit inside it.  Apparently Sea & Sea sells their systems
integrated, and I am having trouble figuring out what actual digital camera
fit in this housing.  I hear it may be a Ricoh, but not sure.  I ...

nikon sensor cleaning29 Oct 2006 17:18 GMT13
I sent my D50 off to Nikon to have the sensor cleaned.  I got it back 19
days later.  They had successfully removed the 6 spots of dirt.  They also
put 9 spots on a different part of the sensor.  I sent it back to Nikon and
they removed the 9 spots.  They replaced them with 2 ...
Which company going to HELL faster?29 Oct 2006 17:17 GMT20
Olympus:  Got rid of high quality, unique designs (C8080, 7070)  to
satiate the unwashed's desires for tradition (E-500) and plastic crap
(any new P&S).
Pentax:  Sold their souls to...gulp!  Samsung!!

What's "focus"29 Oct 2006 06:10 GMT6
I had never thought of this, because most of my shooting has been done with
a fixed focus camera. But now I am wondering, what (I mean physicaly) make
an image in focus ?
Am I right to assume that the most simplified lens would have to pieces of
Lower sharpening on the A61029 Oct 2006 05:02 GMT2
Looking through the manual I found in the photo effects settings a low
sharpening setting. I looked through the manual when I got the camera last
year, but missed that one. Up until now, I thought I had no in camera
control over sharpening. Taking a couple shots of the same ...
