I've been on a project to photograph a few hundred "pages" of a 16mm

I have done some research on Point and Shoot digitals and am conidering
buying a Canon.  The two models that interest me most are the A540 and
SD600.  The SD comes with rechargable battery and charger, is

OK, I took a whole bunch of pictures today at work using a Canon SD630
digital camera and a 2 GB Sandisk SD card. Everything was going fine,
or so I thought. When I got back to my office I found that pitures 0326

I put the XD card from my Olympus camera in my card reader to transfer
them to my computer but the computer locked up before they transferred.

but there's quite a lot and it'd be a pain to scan, save, type file

I have tried using Photoshop Elements to convert a color image to B&W,
but was never completely happy with the results. Today, however, I
received my upgrade to v5.0, which promises "rich" B&W conversions.
