Use of an old film lens for DSLR camera31 Oct 2006 14:21 GMT4
I have a very old Pentax Spotmatic film camera with  Super Takumar 1:1.4 (50
mm) lens.
I now own Nikon D50 DSLR camera.   I am wondering whether there is a way to
use this glass for D50 using an adaptor.

I apologise if this has been asked before, but just out of interest, what it
the definition of a public place/space?
I am thinking that streets, roads, public parks are defined as public space,
however a shopping centre/superstore isn't because it's privately owned.  Am
Canon LiDE 500F scanner broken?31 Oct 2006 09:09 GMT2
This scanner has the plastic attachment for scanning negatives.
98% of the time I am scanning charts (in grey scale) on the full

After one or two uses of the Neg scanner, the unit now "thinks"
Digital P&S and color bit depth31 Oct 2006 07:04 GMT38
Curious about digital point and shoot still cameras along the lines of
color qualities and color bit depth, my old Nikon 950 does a mere 24
bits which is 8 bits per RG and B channel.  Are there any P&S machines
that go to at least 12/36 raw, or even better, to 14/42 raw?
My HP's on the blink, and I need a new camera ($200-$300 range)31 Oct 2006 06:01 GMT14
I've got an HP digicam (R707) now. I like the picture quality OK, but
after a year it's acting up (some buttons don't work sometimes (heat
sensitive), pictures keep disappearing on the cards, even fairly new
ones). I'd like to get a new camera of similar or better in features,
Are LEICA good?31 Oct 2006 05:59 GMT112
At one time the Leica lens were the best money could buy.  Then Japan took
over and Leica faded away.
Now Panasonic is advertising the use of Leica lens.  I wonder what exactly
is the meaning of the Leica name and who makes the lens now?
Can camera bags erase memory sticks?31 Oct 2006 04:48 GMT40
My friendly camera dealer told me that I should really get a new camera bag
as my present (oldish) Point Professional camera bag does not have the
anti-static properties of modern bags that are designed for use with digital
cameras. He told me that putting the camera in, and ...
A beginner question about megapixels.31 Oct 2006 02:31 GMT21
Last year I bought a Pentax *istD.  I'm pretty happy with it, except
that it doesn't accept some of my older non-automatic lenses.  Pentax
now offers a couple of bodies (K100D and K10D) that do accept these
lenses, and I'm thinking about swapping out for one of them.

Looking for some more advice!
My parents are going to treat themselves to a new digital camera for their
Christmas and have asked me for advice.  I've done what I always do and have
a short list of three decent cameras; however they're the ones I would buy

Sorry for the choice of topic which is not precise.
I have taken some pictures inndoors, where to get the korners of the

expected there is yellow light cast from the lighting of the house on
Hi End scanning service30 Oct 2006 14:15 GMT31
