Could someone suggest a program to stitch photo together

I've recently joined a camera club and would like to enter the competitions
however I don't have want to print my own pictures (my printer is very

I am getting a smudge/line on my video with the Canon Powershot S2 when
taking video.  I do not see this with the standard pictures, I do not
think it is on the outside of the lens and it is consistent.  Is this
