howdy, i'm considering buying a new camera, i currently own a canon sd450 and i like it a lot but would like to get a camera with more manual controls. i have no experience with manual controls besides the very limited ones on my canon but would love to learn and practice

My Canon A70 is sadly broken, so I'm in the market for a new camera. Both my wife and I were/are very happy with the image quality of the A70, with our only complaint being redeye. The A70 had a huge redeye problem, that really bug us both.

i just got an m42 to EOS adapter, and am going to use my SMC 50mm 1.4 SMC lens with my Canon, but have a question. whereas, if you shoot the m42 with a spotmatic, you leave the lens on "auto", turn the meter on, meter, then sut the meter off, and you are

I will be looking for a Dslr in the coming months and I am intrigued by the Pentax and Samsung offerings. I understand that they are basicly the same camera, and significantly have street prices at least $100 less than the Canon or Nikon equivalents.
