Monopod opinions please04 Sep 2006 11:30 GMT6
On a scale of 0-10, compared to a good tripod, how effective is a
monopod in reducing shake in low light conditions?
IOW to what degree is the single direction of reduced motion it
provides reflected in the sharpness of the print?

The camera allows you to see what the photo will look like when it's cropped
but I can't seem to save the cropped photo.  Is this possible?
Just got a free digital camera....04 Sep 2006 07:46 GMT6
Got to love being on a mailing list when you dont want to be in the
first place.  I recieved a box from Winston but since I've never been
a smoker so no idea why I got on their list in the first place.
Inside the box was a free cheap 100k pix camera (352x288 max)  No
Old time basics with exposure using grey card and when to underexpose...04 Sep 2006 06:44 GMT4
I have read too many times and have seen the answer too many times on
how to do exposure with cameras, but I'm always left confused by the
responses about this.  For example, I see as the same response in tons
of threads that when you want to get a good exposure (well, a light
Any good web gallery / slideshow software?04 Sep 2006 06:35 GMT10
Howdy,
I have about 60 photos that I would like to arrange in a web presentation,
where it starts with one photo, then clicking that photo leads to the next

Olympus Camedia D-340R04 Sep 2006 06:30 GMT9
Anyone know this camera?

I take the card out of the camera and put it into a card reader, I
cannot see the pictures.

"A car comes through and it stops in front of my position. Sparks are
coming from the car from bad brakes. All the soldiers are yelling.
It's in my vicinity, so it's my responsibility. I didn't fire. A
superior goes, 'Why didn't you fire? You were supposed to fire.'

Digital photos as viewed when clicked to enlarge...Pbase/Flickr/User Groups,etc.04 Sep 2006 02:29 GMT4
Curious:
I have been looking at some photos on the web and wonder why the
sharpness goes down when a picture is enlarged?  In other words, take
any website, be it flickr/pbase/myfourthirds.com/etc. websites devoted
Nikon 50mm lens: f/1.4 or f/1.8?04 Sep 2006 02:15 GMT11
I recently shot a band in the usual dimly lit club setting with the d70

improve the ratio of the keepers to the deleted, and of course that
means a faster lens.
Canon SD700 IS?03 Sep 2006 23:13 GMT17
Ok so after my first thread I contemplated an entry DSLR camera like
the Canon Rebel XT and decided I'm just not ready for something that
expensive (with all the extra lenses and accessories), or bulky. So
like I said before, I like my Canon SD400 but my main problem is
