| Canon PowerShot G3 lens gets stuck on start up, camera shuts down | 06 Sep 2006 11:45 GMT | 3 |
Help on this problem, please. I have a Canon PowerShot G3 for 3 years. Until now only problem was LCD black-out on twist, which is bearable. But now (maybe due to sea water), the lens gets stuck (doesn't extend) upon power-on, the servo sounds a noise, and then the camera shuts down ...

I have a 2GB mini SD card for my mobile phone that would be handy as temporary storage with other devices I use. How reliable are the full-size SD-carrier/adapters that would allow me to use it occasionally in my camera or as data backup for my laptop while out

| spots in lens | 06 Sep 2006 07:08 GMT | 8 |
I discovered that I have spots in my lens on my Canon SD200, which is an ultracompact. The spots are in the exact same places (upper right) in every photo. It is very obvious when at maximum zoom, although you can see faint spots with no zoom as well. I'm pretty sure it's not on

| C2100UZ value? | 06 Sep 2006 04:04 GMT | 4 |
I have never been seduced by high pixel counts and my trusty Olympus C2100UZ has done me many years of valued service. The 10x stabilised zoom lens has always more than compensated for the mere 2.1 megapixels. I normally only print 6x4 but I have printed up to A4 size and got ...

| More pixels are better, much of the time | 05 Sep 2006 19:56 GMT | 7 |
There has been a lot of talk about why it would be bad to increase the number of pixels for a given size sensor, the feeling being that the noise would be too high to be worth the extra resolution. But this is an easy test of this to get a good feel of what you would

| Movies on a Digital Still Camera (Canon A700) | 05 Sep 2006 19:01 GMT | 3 |
I am impressed by the results of the Movie mode on my new Canon Powershot A700. However I could only manage a 22 second (about 40mb) clip before the movie stopped, presumably with a full buffer. This rose to about 30 seconds with a freshly formatted card. The camera is supposed ...
