PhotoPlus16 Sep 2006 20:16 GMT6
I tend to view most of my holiday digital images on screen, and use
PhotoPlus 9.01 to add captions. My problem is that in order to get a
readable size print on a full screen 1600x1200 image I have to use a minimum
of 28 point (Arial), preferably 36 point. Very occasionally (as ...
Is this new Sigma SD14 DSLR?16 Sep 2006 19:54 GMT119
See:

I think it looks rather nice. Hope it has JPEG in-camera now - it seems to
have a white balance mode selector, which points to in-camera JPEG.
Decision of Camera16 Sep 2006 19:46 GMT2
My choice boils down to:
Nikon D 50 with the new 28-200 lens
or
Nikon D-80 with kit lens.
AdobeRGB or sRGB?16 Sep 2006 19:12 GMT13
First of all, thank you to all those that helped with my earlier posts.
I've finally taken the leap and gone digital (350D and Tamron
17-55/2.8) and very happy so far.
My question is: What is the difference, a setting on the 350D, between
PhotoPlus16 Sep 2006 17:08 GMT2
I'm using PhotoPlus 9.0, it was inexpensive and apart from it's lame
cropping tool, seems to be quite capable.
Corel is now pushing PSP X1 with attractive offers. Does anyone here use
the Serif product and can comment how it compares with PSP. I'm a home
Sony H2 to replace Minolta 7HI16 Sep 2006 15:08 GMT2
Sony is repairing Minolta cameras with CCD failures for free, usually
exchanging them with Sony H2 models.
Is this a reasonable one for one exchange or could I do better ?
Canon Powershot SD800 IS release date16 Sep 2006 14:11 GMT4
I'm in the market for a digital camera. My Initial choice is the canon
Powershot SD700 but I see on canon usa website that the SD800 IS will
be coming out next month on October. I'm dabating  on whether or not I
should wait for the SD800 or get the SD700 now. Does anybody know when
Photo Gallery generator16 Sep 2006 12:18 GMT2
Do you know a good web photo generator to recommend?
I use Photoshop, Automate > Web Photo Gallery and have problems in Firefox
as you can see here:

compact CRASH16 Sep 2006 03:33 GMT10
OK. I took some shots and shot of my Rebel XT. Took out the Lexar 1GB 40x
compact flash and put it in the card reader. All this like I normally do.
But to my surprise... no images on the CF. Infact, when I put it back in the
camera I got "Err CF".

Konica Minolta technology is alive and well16 Sep 2006 02:46 GMT6
In March 2006, Konica Minolta announced that it would leave the
photography business and transfer its camera technology to Sony.
Sony is now introducing a line of DSLRs with the Minolta image stability
scheme in the body rather than in the lens.  This means that all Sony

Skewed tilt on shoe mount flashes16 Sep 2006 00:51 GMT3
If this is obvious sorry, but...
I have noticed folks using the shoe-mount flashes with a skewed tilt.
Usually, when you point the head up, it is for bounce flash, or when
you just need a little catch light only, it is nice to angle it up with
Portrait photography16 Sep 2006 00:47 GMT3
I am new to photography but I am interested in getting into portraits
of children.  Is there any particular type of digital camera that would
be best for that type of photography.  I would like to do indoor as
well as outdoor pictures, both posed and candid.
